It's really heartbreaking to see families who have spent their entire life in a particular state only to be segregated because they are not from that state.
In my opinion, if Nigeria wants to grow as a nation, the demands by employers and schools for LGA identification letters and State of Origin should be banned. In its stead, we should just have State of Residence.

It is no longer news that Nigerians who reside abroad for certain number of years are made citizens of that country. Some become citizens just by lottery. Here in Rivers State, there are so many lawlessness which are done by the so called indigenes. Extortion in the form of community development levies, "marching ground" etc are common. Recently, the Rivers State House of Assembly passed a law against such extortion.

Is it not proper for the Nigerian nation (if we really are one) to ban the presentation of LGA identification letters/certificates as a credential? Does this not disunite us instead of unite us?
Forum members, what do you think?
