I think we should always analyse issues. I saw just one comment above that says we should always parboil beans, the rest have been , zoo , afonja, wicked world etc.

There is the possibility of a substance been in the food without them knowing.

What police should do is to take samples of the cooked food, as well as samples of the uncooked and send to a lab, to ascertain what the issue is.

Because if it is from the uncooked, then there might be more danger for as many people that would buy from that source.

All these grammar is subsequent to the fact, that nobody would possibly enter the apartment to pour poison in the food.
