If you are a traveller you will understand that nothing consigns the pilot but the ground management. The pilots also want to go back. They are in the airport ready to fly. Is either technical faults on the aircraft which I doubt or over booked seats by airline staffs and agents. The punch landed at the right place

Flight cancellations, delays, and rescheduling happens everywhere in the world. Even in USA, Canada and Europe, you will never see them fighting officials.
If this happens in USA, the guy may be ban from flying for life by TSA and face charges.

Normally in other countries, they will tell you that "we are cancelling the flight due to bad weather, engine fault, issues on the run way etc" if your flight is cancelled, you are compensated sometimes with little gifts and hotel bookings for those who needs it (I'm 100% sure, especially the hotel booking). They respect and treat you well. In Nigeria, they will simply tell you that your flight has been cancelled. No reason, you can go to hell if you want. You can see the white guy gesturing to passangers to shut up. Something he can never try in a foreign country.

Turkish Airlines is very notorious for delayed flights. Do not travel with your kids using that airline.

Use the airline if you have plenty of time to spare. Not arriving in New York at say 7 am and you have an important meeting at 10:30 am. Do not do it. They easily delay for hours to begin with.

With their cheap fares, that's to be expected.

Read the terms and conditions of the ticket before you confirm the purchase and make sure there is some kind of acceptable compensation for delayed and cancelled flights. If you don't like it, don't buy it, simple as that. I got a 7 hour delay in Munich once, we didn't go beating up the Lufthansa staff.
