5 False Beliefs About Acne by magazineguy(m): 5:59pm On Sep 27, 2018
Acne has been known to be one of the greatest skin problems in the world. It can be caused by over production of oil in the oil gland, puberty process, and oily skin, not cleansing the skin regularly, certain foods and not using the right products for your skin. Some people believe it is caused by certain things or way of life which is not true. It is also important to consult a dermatologist before doing self-medication, as the curse might be different from the next person. There are some false beliefs and there are:

It is caused by poor hygiene

This is false as acne and hygiene is not relatable. That a person looks unkempt does not in any way give acne, so people should not get it twisted and try to know the source of the problem before blaming it on looks. Acne starts from inside the pores and not a surface thing, one needs to treat acne from the inside by taking certain medication and using the right product.

It is caused by candy and fried food

This might not be entirely a lie because for some people certain foods trigger their acne that is not to say that eating fried food can cause acne. Moderation is key to whatever kind of food you put in your body. Foods containing high sugar content or dairy can worsen acne, one needs to see a professional before taking major steps on their diet.

Products that are harsh and sting cure acne

Most people have believed this for a long time, which is definitely not true. Some people go about using products that are unnecessary strong and wrong for their skin, in the name that it would. Check product content, do a skin test and see a dermatologist and skin care specialist before purchasing and using any product. Some people like to over scrub or use harsh abrasive face scrubs thinking it would cure their acne, but in turn makes the acne worse. Know your skin type and the best product possible to use.

Moisturizers are not good for acne prone skin

Ladies and gentlemen this is a big lie and do not listen to anyone who tells you this. The more you moisturize by using the non-oily moisturizer and applied in tiny bits, the better for your skin. Moisturizers actually play an important role in healing your acne and making it less visible. The less you apply a moisturizer makes the skin dry, unhealthy and gives room for more germs. Do not forget your sunscreen, to protect your skin from the sun. if possible get a moisturizer that has sunscreen in it, if you are too lazy to follow the steps.

It can be cured

Sorry to disappoint you but it has no cure, it can be controlled to the barest minimum by eating right, exercising, drinking lots of water, using the right product, sleeping well, by not over stressing yourself, having a positive mind-set and doing a facial at most once a month. Most people will grow out of it at some point in their lives, but no one knows when that will be. For now, work with a good dermatologist and skin care expert and voila you are good to go.

Op, please the next time you wanna write, carry out a proper research so you don't mislead people because what you wrote up there is pure trash and unfounded.

First of all, there are different types of acne which are triggered differently and also treated differently.

Poor hygiene might not be the main cause of acne but can trigger it because acne is caused by a certain bacteria especially cystic acne. Therefore, anyone with acne needs to always observe a proper hygiene.

Most OTC drugs which are usually prescribed for some moderate acne are usually harsh and stinky although they hardly work for severe acne and hormonal acne.

Fried and oily food(poor dieting) triggers acne more than anything expecially hormonal acne.

Not every moisturiser is suitable for an acne prone skin.

The first step is to avoid self medication and visit a well recommended dermatologist..

Hormonal acne is best treated with good dieting and organic products!

And Yes! ACNE HAS A CURE!!
