The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Thursday demanded the cancellation of the rerun governorship election in Osun State. Kola Ologbondiyan, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, made the call while rejecting the rerun process on Thursday. In a tweet, Ologbondiyan called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to reject what he termed, “electoral banditry.” Ologbondiyan also urged the electorial umpire to declare its candidate in the rerun election, Ademola Adeleke winner of the election. “@OfficialPDPNig demands the cancellation of the re-run gubernatorial election in Osun State. “We demand return @OfficialPDPNig gubernatorial candidate, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, by @inecnigeria as elected winner of this election. “@inecnigeria, reject electoral banditry!,” he tweeted. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/09/osun-rerun-pdp-calls-for-cancellation.html 1 Like

It seems Mr. Kola, the PDP and its supporters are collectively suffering from selective amnesia. Rerun was held in Bayelsa where the PDP won convincingly and the losers of that election ate the humble pie and licked their wounds. While the APC governors and party leaders were on ground to ensure the success of their party in the election, the likes of Wike, Dickson, Secondus were bickering over the choice of convention venue. Oshiomole, Fayemi and other APC leaders went in a group to bargain with Omisore, Saraki, Atiku and other PDP leaders went to him separately-just to prove points and score cheap political points. Nothing else jeopardized PDP's chances in this Osun guber election than individual self-interests, same thing that will happen in 2019. By accepting the run-off in the 1st place, pdp goofed seriously. The election was won by them fair n square on saturday. Even when inec admitted doing a mistake in the collation, they still allow this run-off to hold.  Well, apc have robbed them again. 6 Likes |

The level of desperation demonstrated by both sides was over the top. But this is so clear that what took place today wasn't an election. I'm not a PDP sympathiser, but I see them winning this case in court effortlessly.
