Always walk like you’re in a hurry to somewhere. Walking casually attracts pickpockets and thieves.
If something is cheap in your area, it’s cheaper in Oshodi and it’s cheapest at Lagos island market.
Leaving the innermost parts of the mainland to the island, there’s a very big difference leaving your house at 5:20am, 5:30am and 5:40am.
Using pedestrian bridges at night is synonymous to walking through the lions den. There’s a 90% chance you’ll get robbed.
The island is overrated for chills. You can have more fun on the mainland for less than what you’ll spend on the island.
“I live on the island” only applies to those living from Ikoyi to Ajah roundabout.
The Oshodi - mile 2 expressway has the highest number of “one chance” vehicles plying it.
If you’re in a public bus going to mile 2 or iyanaba and you hear French speakers on the radio, raise an alarm. You’re very close to Seme border and about to be kidnapped.
If a Lagosian is describing somewhere to you and tells you the place isn’t far and trekkable, it’s most likely very far and you should use a keke napep.
If you think Oshodi is rough and dangerous, ask about the time before Fashola cleared the place.
