Buy strength of Material by R.S Khurmi . It is good for those studying civil engineering. In it you will see topics like Bending Moment ,and Shear force with uniform and varying load , Mohr's circle , Torsion and other relevant topics . You can also add Engineering Mathematics by K.A Stroud. ..the list is much but, for now, those two are nice for a start .

You will be starting 100level , and will be introduced to basic sciences like physics,chemistry mathematics, philosophy, etc...but not engineering science; which is on whole new level . But I suggest you ask older students who have gone through the system ; they are in a better position to know the kind of books you will need in your first year. However , the books I recommended will do nicely in your second and third year.

Year one should be general courses, meanwhile let me list as much as I can remember some I can't remember the authors complete name again while others you can get one of any author provided its in S.I units and readily available.

you don't need any textbook focusing on civil engineering.
You're still a fresher, and thus a science student still.
Get engineering mathematics ka Stroud, and take ur phy Chem textbooks from home.

The ones with Nigerian authors are hard copies you can get them from CMS or probably your school, rajput is hardcopy, Bscodes is about 1gb so I can't send the complete package and Civil engineering dictionary oxford is hardcopy I will send another. Going through about 20gb of materials is difficult so I might end up sending as much as I can.
