The Russian Defence Ministry has released video footage of the delivery of S-300 systems, interceptor missiles, radars and other hardware to Syria to boost the country’s air-defense capabilities in the wake of the Il-20 incident.

The night-time footage shows the military hardware being unloaded off the world's largest military transport jet, the Antonov An-124 Ruslan (the Condor), designed to carry a payload of 120 tons. The video shows the gigantic front cargo doors of the aircraft opening up, through which the Russian servicemen rapidly unload an S-300 launcher, radar and control vehicles, as well as the mounting of surface-to-air interceptor missile tubes onto a hauling unit.

According to Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu a total of 49 pieces of military equipment were supplied to Damascus and all of it will be integrated with the Russian anti-air capabilities into a unified air defense control system by October 20, while Syrian crews will be trained to operate the new hardware within three months.

The delivery of S-300 units to Damascus, which was frozen over concerns by Tel Aviv, was ordered by President Putin in response to the accidental September 17 downing of the Il-20 reconnaissance plane with 15 servicemen on board by Syrian air-defense units during an Israeli raid. The Russian military has accused Israeli colleagues of acting recklessly and unprofessionally, and of deliberately using the defenseless plane as a cover, while Tel Aviv attempted to shift all the blame for the incident on Damascus and Tehran.

This is not a joking matter oh. Now the war of words have begun. So far Israel has not attacked Syria since the downing of the Russian EW plane.

Here is an update from the war of words.

ISRAEL WON'T STOP OPS IN SYRIA DESPITE S-300 DELIVERY - DEFENSE MINISTER

On Tuesday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated that Moscow had delivered 49 units of S-300 surface-to-air missile grin grin grin systems to Syria in order to enhance the security of Russian servicemen in the country.

Speaking on Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that Tel Aviv wasn't "happy" about the S-300sdeliveries to Syria, but it could not give up on its military operations in the war-ravaged country.

"I cannot say that we are happy about the deployment of the S-300s. At the same tome, we have no choice here. We have no opportunity to make decisions [on military operations in Syria]," he said.

The minister further stated that it was important for Russia and Israel to restore normal ties despite their disagreements over the downing of the Il-20 reconnaissance plane.

“I think the most important thing for us today is…to return the working relationship to normal. It is today the most important task — to return to normal operation, coordination, to more actively use the 'hot line' to prevent conflict situations. We need to work,” said Lieberman.

Lieberman once again reiterated that Israel blamed Syria for the Il-20 crash, thus dismissing Moscow's version that Israeli F-16 jets had used the Russian aircarft as a shield against Syrian air defenses.

“I repeat, the entire responsibility lies with Assad's army… Over the past two years Israel has conducted more than 200 strikes against Iranian facilities and Hezbollah targets in Syria. Two hundred times, and not a single Russian soldier received a single scratch. Suddenly, here we allegedly arranged such a 'setup'. It is illogical. In addition, you need to understand that the speed of the F-16 is two and a half times the speed of the Il-20… and at the time when the Syrian air defenses opened fire, Israeli planes were already in our airspace," the minister said.

He elaborated that the Russian side did not accept the "facts that we have provided them with," and was insisting on Moscow's version of events..

“We are engaged in a very civilized, adequate dialogue, despite the seriousness of the situation, despite the tragic incident. I want to emphasize that in the statement of the President of Russia, this was precisely the way it was defined — a chain of tragic events, therefore, it is necessary to treat and understand it this way, that for both Israel and Russia it is much more advisable… to have a positive dialogue, work together, rather than engage in public showdowns,” the minister added.

Earlier this week, Russian Defense Ministet Sergei Shoigu said that Russia had finalized the delivery of 49 units of S-300s to Syria.

On September 24, Shoigu announced that Moscow would take certain measures to boost the security of its troops in Syria, including deliveries of the advanced S-300 systems in the aftermath of the crash of Russia's Il-20 military aircraft.

The Russian military has blamed the downing on the Israeli Air Force, stressing that an Israeli fighter jet had used the Il-20 as a shield against Syrian air defenses.

Now, bring me the empty skulls of those Amerikan & Israel-loving ignoramuses on Nairaland - so that I may use them to drink Heineken & Palm wine. grin

What Israel did to Mother Russia was a terrible, doom-laden mistake that can never be rectified.

Israel has done a very good job at becoming international pariahs & nobody will cry for the terrorist entity if she ends up being bombarded by series of volleys from Russian Iskander-M because she keeps giving us (The Goyim Defense Coalition) fresh reasons to be disgusted by her.

Israel's latest-backstabbing behaviour is absolutely no surprise. How many Palestinian children did she shoot this year alone in the name of self-defense?

Now, with the "confirmed" delivery of the S-300 systems to the Syrians, hubris will meet its nemesis because increasingly - the Goyim know.

I previously never had any deep sentiments for Syria when the war started but now - We Are All Syrians. grin

Both Israel & the United Snakes of Amerika need a punch to the mouth to sober them up - and it is the S-300 that will do it. grin

49 units is a whole lot of force to deal with. In fact, the skyline over Syria now is practically like Kalinigrad to Russia. They can now see who comes, from where, and who leaves. This is a game changer.

Blow up the system on arrival? Talk is cheap. It's over one week now, and suddenly it's all quiet in the Syrian Frontlines. What we are seeing here is a repeat of the Yugoslavia/ NATO war.

When NATO was about bombing Yugoslavia, the Yugoslavia military requested the S-300 from Russia, but the Kremlin decline the offer because they don't want to be politically involved in the matter. But the Yugo forces were witty, and you know what they did next? Well, they sent some of their army uniforms to a unit of Russian missile forces who took the uniforms, put them on and with them snapped some photos of themselves manning some units of the S-300. After that, they sent the photos back to the Yugo forces who in turn took them and intentionally positioned them for NATO to see. Of course, NATO intelligence saw the photos and guess what happened..
.
The bombardment was delayed for a whole TWO WEEKS. grin cool. Call it ingenuity. cool

This is exactly what is happening now to IDF in Syria following the deployment of the S-300. In fact, the way the entire thing happened so quickly has got some people talking that Moscow might just have played the west by creating a false flag with the IL 20 plane, so they can have the excuse to create an air bubble over Syria. cool

Don't forget that we are talking about Russia--the grandmasters of chess and the god of geopolitics. Those crewmen could easily have parachuted out of the plane and what we have is an empty S-200 targeted IL-20. It's very possible. But again, I might be wrong.

However, one thing is now certain, and even the west knows it, although no one is admitting it: it is that Russia is effectively creating a de facto no fly zone over Syria, considering that the units supplied to Syria are being linked to Russian systems in Syria and to Russian radars mounted on ships across the sea. So even if IDF. Manage to get past one or more of the units, other radar systems would easily pick them up and relay their positions back to other units for a lock-in, shoot and destroy. Ask Israel what Soviet supplied SAMS did to its airforces in the 74 Egyptian war. They lost so many planes and a lot of casualties recorded.

For those armchair kid generals on Nairaland who believe in stealth and glide bombs to take out the S-300, hear this: Russian operates a layered air defense system, which include long, short and medium range SAMS all protecting one another, so the S-300 won't be operating alone. You have Pantsir S1 and S2, Tor M1, BUKs, SOE, etc, protecting the system. The Pantsir the IDF killed last time was sitting idle without weapons, and was not even under command to fire anything against Israel, and that's why Israel apologized after the incident. But this time around, Moscow ears are closed to any apology, and from all indication so far, they are ready to go haywire over the IL-20,and the west got the message very clear. cool

The only way round these systems now for IDF is to attack the Russian sea vessels which is primarily the heart of Russia's radar and EW power base as far as Syria is concerned.

But you and I already know what the answer to that option looks like.

Like Seunny4lif just mentioned, Holiday has come to the airwaves of Syria, and who else did it, the RUSSIAN BEAR! cool cool

For every planned provocation from the West, there's always a subtle yet deadly response. The Red Bear is at it again. A no fly zone without a declaration.

And so what? If Israel has a found a very cheap way around the system, why were they still lobbying Moscow to not deliver the system to Syria for more than 5 years? Come to think of it: we are not talking about 1 or two S-300 units here, but a whooping 49 units. Even the best of Israel's EW system will have a hell of a trouble jamming such extensive units of air defense platforms.

The fact that is, what Israel need now is a political solution to the problem. They just have to reestablished cordial ties with Russia, otherwise, going gaga against Russian forces in Syria would only worsen the problem and further limit, if not, totally eradicate their opportunities to check Iran excesses in the region.

Doing so will make him look weak to the Russians and approving the deployment of S300 means he know what he was doing.
Putin knows how to play his game.
He deployed the S300 and S400 after Turkey down the Russia jet and supply Syria after S200 that does not know the diff between Friends or Foes jets down Russia jet

We can only state the obvious, and the obvious is that just as Turkey shot an air-to-air missiles against his interest in Syria, grounding his airforce for more than 3 months, the same way Israel has just limited his options in Syria with the IL-20 downing.

According to reports, F-15 warplanes have trained against the S-300 in the framework of the Clear Sky 2018 international exercise which includes Israeli and US pilots. It wasn’t immediately clear if the Israeli pilots were flying or merely observing from the ground. However, on October 16, a US pilot and his Ukrainian counterpart died in the crash of a Ukrainian Su-27 warplane.

Is now a whole full month and no attacks on Syria Government forces by Israel.... Wonders. After so much chest-beating of destroying the S-300 on arrival, they have suddenly gone cold like ice water.

Bunch of jokers. Don't they know that Russia must have preempted this move, knowing the countries that operate the S 300 and the ones most likely to make secret concessions to the west, for which the UkroNazi is chief? It is really foolish of them to have expected Russia to give the same class of S300 Ukraine has to their Syrian ally.

From all indications, it is very clear that the west are still unable to provide answers to the S300 threat. The US even have a unit of the S300 they bought from Croatia many years ago, and is located in Nevada as we speak. So it is normal that they must have studied it extensively for years. They and Israel have also trained many times against the S300 in Greece, which operates some units. However, from what is going on now, it is very clear they are still unable to convincingly counter the the threat pose by the S300. If they have a robust way of beating the system already, they wouldn't be shuffling to Ukraine to train against the S300.

To make matters worse, the model sold to Syria are the modified versions capable of 300 miles. This is the real reason why the IDF is unable to breach the Syrian sky anymore.

It is even more pathetic when you consider that the F-35 they so much boast about actually features a Russian Technology made by Yakelov of Yak company.

America now knows that when it comes to rocket technology, they are just learning how to fix screws. The Russians are king when it comes to missile technology. No wonder the US is threatening sanctions on any country that is buying Russian made SAM'S.

Pathetic.

You just read an Su-27 crashed training against the S300. What do you think will happen in real combat. I think stealth or invincible jet tech isn't for the mother Bear. If the Serbs could do it against the Nighthawk with an archaic 50s Soviet radar, your guess is as good as mine if the IAF flies any F35 near Syria.

the UN is really weak, thank God a lot of this European countries are tired of war, why will the UN just be looking while Israel keeps on violating the right of Syrians. It's just like Benin republic or Cameroon bombing the north east.
