He should use his smartness to become self employed.

Sounds like a wise post from you but not so wise.

You need sufficient capital to become self employed. The way to the top is via service

The two of you are having a nice discussion and I like it. As someone who is experienced, I'll explain.

Read this: you don't need sufficient capital to start up a business, but sufficient brain to think outside the box.

With this brain that thinks outside the box, sufficient capital will be generated to launch into a bigger business.

What is drawing most young entrepreneurs backward is because they think they need enough capital to start. No, they need enough digital skills which can be learned for free on YouTube and on blogs with just ₦25 midnight plan for 500MB.

I would've loved to explain how I turned 10k to millions, but it will be too long. So, what I'm trying to say is: you don't need sufficient capital, but sufficient brain, skill, and focus.

I'm an advocate of entrepreneurship but seriously, everyone must not take that path. We all are not the same. Some are better at following than leading. If everyone becomes self employed, who then will be employed?

& fancy that guy describing himself as 'super intelligent' with this low comprehension level u pointed out! Humanity & vanity!

Such a shame that people like you seem to believe that you require an online platform to show that you are a genius at comprehending things. In truth, I may have missed the context of what she wrote, but the real vanity in humanity is u expressing your level of intelligence with sarcasm. I don't troll people online, at least, other reasonable people pointed out exactly what she meant.

Pardon me jumping into conclusion.... I simply wanted to let u know that HR in Nigeria sucks though, but depends on the company u are applying to Company such as DHL wouldn't discriminate nor would the HR take important aspects of the business(personnel) for granted.... Hope u have gotten a Job now? My apologies if I took your statement out of context
You are arrogant even while giving apologies. Instead of giving straightforward apologies, u resorted to saying "IF" u took the statement out of context when you know you did so in fact.

I appreciate that you are trying to say something, but about DHL, you are super wrong. I currently work with DHL and I can say I submitted my cv d same way most people did, and within a month, I was contacted to come for and interview with them. 2 weeks after, I got the job. And I am a 2.2 graduate.... It was all God though, but I know I am super intelligent and DHL doesn't discriminate...
*sighs* I wonder how you got that job with DHL

That's like saying some have to be servants for others to be Masters. Which is true. But I'll rather be the latter than the former. And I'll advise everyone I come across to follow same path. Which would you rather be?

Let's be objective here please. Do you know that there are employees living way better than most entrepreneurs? You make it seem as if being an employee is hell. The earlier you discover that balance must be created, the more enlightened you will become.. Using the slave and master analogy is unacceptable and sardonic... It shows that your mindset toward being an employee is highly flawed.. Mind the kind of books you read!

For there to be an entrepreneur, an employee must exist. I don't go around preaching about entrepreneurship despite that being my field, because I believe everyone has their route in life. It's left for them to discover it.

Entrepreneurship is more than just the financial reward. You've got to have passion for value creation and impact. Unfortunate, everyone has their various passion. Don't shove your passion down someone else's throat.

Well, that is quite unfortunate, but some HR managers are likely to respond to emails than postal...

All the best!

I can see you are one of those who like throwing words around with little or no care for their meanings or implications. If you want to be objective then try to do so fully. Are you being objective when you compare a successful employee to an unsuccessful entrepreneur? In other words, saying that there are employees living way better than most entrepreneurs is not only assumptuous but grossly fallacious.
Several researches have shown that given adequate resources (capital, time, knowledge, materials, personnel etc) the average employee would rather be an employer.
Spewing out your personal opinion is not the same as being objective, bro.

My assumptions are fallacy? I can mention more than a hundred employees here in Nigeria that earn 10 times your income as an entrepreneur.

What am I really saying? Everyone can't be an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship spans beyond just the mere financial reward, it is more of creating value that springs forth self-fulfillment at the end.

You don't get to choose the path someone take in life. Looks like you're one of those who care little about passion, they follow any tide that promises financial freedom. That's not life bro. Life is much more than that! What would the world even look like if everyone is an entrepreneur? it's like a doctor, forcing his son to also be a doctor thereby neglecting the child's passion. That's torment!

You have passion for entrepreneurship (maybe not), and I thank God for your life. But that doesn't mean everyone have the same passion. That doesn't mean you should go around like a crusader, converting people to your field, shoving down your passion without consideration for what they love..

Some love saving life thus, they became doctors.

Some love justice and because of that overwhelming passion, they delve into law.

PASSION IS KEY TO HAPPINESS!

How I wish you can understand more about entrepreneurship.

Don't mention me again to spill horseshit cause you're really insulting my profession.

Peace!

No argument there.

You don't get to choose the path someone take in life.
I actually kind of do. I help people find their financial fulfilment in life.

Passion without financial fulfilment will lead you to depression and eventual suicide. Except you are one of those who find contentment in living from hand to mouth, in which case you're not my audience.

You're really veering off the subject matter and I think it is beginning to tell on you, judging by the hint of frustration in your write up.
The point is not the profession, it's the position. Whether you choose to be a lawyer, or a doctor, or even a carpenter, no problem. The advise is, strive to become independent, so that you can raise others up by employing them, who then follow the same path by raising others up. I hope I haven't lost you again?

From the bolded, you have already defected your argument. Your started off feeling like a self sufficient entrepreneur, someone who believe employees shouldn't exist in the first place. You even likened them to slaves which ended up infuriating me. Why would you employ them since you detest them so much?

The truth is, independence is an illusion. It doesn't exist no matter how much you feel you have made. I will leave you to your mindset cause I have no time to further with this myopic argument. Time I should use breeding forth individuals who are willing and excited to journey the path of entrepreneurship.

Shalom!
