After emerging victorious at the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has thanked the party for choosing him to be its flag-bearer for the 2019 presidential election. He also thanked his former boss, HE Olusegun Obasanjo for giving him the opportunity to serve as his vice, a platform that made this achievement a reality today.

The national convention of the party, which began on Saturday,in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and continued well into Sunday, saw Atiku eventually emerge winner, polling a total of 1,532 votes to win the contest among all the contestants.

He beat Aminu Tambuwal and Senate President Bukola Saraki, who scored 693 and 317 votes, respectively.

He thereafter thanked the party via a tweet that read: ".@OfficialPDPNig, thank you for choosing me. This is a victory for all of us. The task to get Nigeria working again starts now."

I am glad at the outcome of the pdp primaries. Atiku is a good gentleman. He has administrative skill much more than Buhari. He is a good manager.

Buhari failed me. He lacks administrative skill. He is not a good manager at all.

I supported him in 2015 but withdrew my support when he crashed the economy and started making one sided appointment/

I pray he makes economy his priority. I just love how detribalized ATIKU is.
