yes that was what i did.
i applied for visiting in march 2022 and submitted spousal sponsorship in January 2023. i just hope to get my medicals done before i travel to canada for summer

Was told that it’s impossible to submit two applications at the same time.

Your medical request will come in soon. Mine came in a month and 3 weeks after biometrics instruction letter.

Second resubmission: February 20, 2023.
AOR: March 15, 2023.
Request for Biometrics: April 17, 2023.
Biometrics Updated: April 20, 2023.

I did my upfront medical on the 20th of march, Up till now It has not been updated. Someone told me I was supposed to be given a slip by IOM but I was not given. Can anyone put me through what I am supposed to do next?

According to your timeline, You haven’t gone for your biometric neither have you gone for your medical. Your application can not be processed without these mandatory requirements.

It could be that your application has not be acknowledged/Received. If they are requesting an additional document without acknowledging the receipt of your application first, it means that your application was not complete.

I will advise that you get an immigration lawyer or someone knowledgeable to help you resubmit a new application instead of waiting for nothing.

It's never too late to start afresh. Success

You should use your UCI number not your spouse.

Usually, you will see it in your biometric instruction letter. UCI number is given after IRCC acknowledge the receipt of your application
