How many times have they sold Ajaokuta? So called fake investors will come and strip the company of assets and sell? The company has land, machinery and raw material that is money. They've been approving budgets for its revitalization, and now they want to sell? What broad daylight robbery is this?

Nigerians need to understand that the Chinese loans collected by Buhari was tied to the 60% JV interest of the Nigerian govt in the IOCs.

Meaning in the next few years, Chinese will take over/ run our oil and gas industry because this govt is bent on looting the entire funds.

Nigeria is doomed.
Where did you get this unethical analysis from? Back of your TV?

Let it be correctly implemented so that we dont make another consessional payout like we did to some Asians some years ago.

So the government doesn't have 652 million dollars to get the plant completed and running but can share over 300 million dollars Abacha loot to the so called poor Nigerians.i wonder why the government negotiators didn't insist on using the money for ventures like this.

he has a point, and I think I'll believe him because that's the modus operandi of the Chinese

They have done that to Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Greece and Zambia

so what stops them from doing it to Nigeria too?

You sold Nigerian Airways, NITEL, and left Muhammadu Buhari to pay the workers you lay off.

For 16 years, you couldn't complete the rail projects you initiated until Buhari use less than four years to complete them.

You refused to pay Biafra soldiers their pension until this man came to pay what no other government dared pay.

He followed suit to pay ASUU their outstanding allowances thus keeping students in school for three years without going on strike except for the warning strike that didn't last more than a week.

He stopped the weekly bombings of our worship centers and pushed the insurgents to the borderline of our territory. The same way he addressed the perennial agitations in the Niger Delta an impasse you couldn't address in 16 years!

In three years, the degraded Ogoni land is been cleaned a feat that you dare not initiate.

If this is how a government is measured as failed, permit me to bring this man back again so that he can continue with this failed governance.
....Audaciously Amusing

Selling to private investors is the same thing as privatisation. The percentage of government holding in Ajaokuta that will be sold to private investors is not known yet. I support the privatization of the steel plant.
Outright sell out has always worked better than sily PPP in Nigeria, telecommunication industry is a testimony.

i prefer it being sold to an experienced mining mogul

During the Jonathan era it was supposed to be sold to a Russian firm but was cancelled don't know why ...since it's the Russians that's built the plane and Russia it's the largest producer of aluminum it's should be sold to them

Nigeria is doomed.

They are smart. They will always blame it on Gej, the PDP and the immediate past 16 years before 2015.

They won't accept responsibility for anything. Very smart they are.

They should sell it for $1 with the following conditions

-The buy should give a timeline for reviving to production level
-A plan to train Nigerian engineers
-A plan for CSR to prevent the problems that occurred in the South South States.

It was doomed to fail. The process of transporting finished steel is by sea and the river bed in kogi is too shallow that factory should have been in the south with train conveying the minerals down south and finished products shipped to Europe.
Another hinderance is the Soviet union/U.S. politics

The politics of U.S./ Russia is the bane of ajaokuta. Nigeria has the propensity of becoming the largest producer of steel in Africa? Where does that leave U.S.? And the factory is Soviet built, who gets the accolades?

I hope that these LINO (Leaders In Name Only) that are mortgaging the sovereignty and future of their country especially Nigeria by taking all these Chinese loans would take a step back and realize what they are actually doing. Infact, this is a modern day colonization of Africa after the Western countries had raped and decimated the continent. It is no surprise that these countries would opt to take these loans even in most cases with the knowledge that the "intended" or "proposed" project would be of no benefit to the country. But due to the fact that these "RULERS" are so corrupt, greedy and without vision, they often choose to burden their country by taken on these huge debts that would force them to hand over the security, sovereignty and future of their country to China. This is a warning to the current African "not leaders" to learn from their past mistakes and turn on a new leaf before the Chinese people would start running the affairs of their country as you can see in the video at the link below:
