Why the need for two weeks? If they actually have evidence, why not go to court? Are we actually ready to fight corruption in this country?

The first 5 set of people to comment are lazy. They can't read through. Theirs is to read the headline and comment.
His lawyer is right. EFCC cannot continue to detain him if they don't have concrete evidence against him. What were they doing in the past 3 years when they could have stacked up enough evidences and proofs? undecided

You're right. Just like they worked for pdp before APC became the ruling party.
if efcc worked for pdp alone, bode judge wunt even face charges not to talk of enter prison. let not support mediocre. every forces in Nigeria now works against opposition and is bad. remember sir, that not everyone is a politician. but dis is our country. apc is teaching pdp how to use power. if pdp used power, apc wunt taste federal power at all.

this country is just a mess. why don't dey take fayose to court, then if he is guilty he faces the law. not this drama happening now!!
Are you usually like this or it's because you just woke up? Where exactly did they get the court injunction to detain him? Under the bridge you must think?

This is where i rest my case that EFCC is just a wash.

"“From the way they have been chasing Fayose in the last three years, one would have expected that the EFCC would have completed its investigations and would arrest him immediately his tenure expires and charge him the next day but that is not the case"

They had all the time in the world to build their evidences but if by now, they still claim they are investigating matters since 2014, they sgould let the man be and when they are ready, they can play a return match.

As it is, we all know its juat to harrass him for his clear stance against the president. When they were all shouting he wanted to leave the party, i knew it wasnt from him but from the opposition because they wanted to create enmity and press his panick button

As a sitting governor,
Most of the files were hidden from the commission to wrap up their case.

For those supporters of corruption shouting take him to court, is that how they take someone to court? You need to build a water tight case before filing any charges now efcc can proceed and build that case. From this administration and moving forward it shall not be business as usual and they people will be better for it.
It's such a shame that this is the same person some people idolize, people wey una steal together Don enter plea bargain and are returning money, polutry scam is still there, only God knows what he was up to between 2014-18.

Re: EFCC Obtains Court Order To Detain Fayose For Two Weeks by maasoap(m): 7:17am On Oct 18, 2018
The remand order, it was learnt, is subject to renewal which implies that Fayose could spend longer than two weeks in custody.

The guy is a nuisance. Can't they keep him like forever?

I think you are the lazy one here. They have carried out their own investigation but still need to ask him questions. Remember, the law empower them to so within the ambit of the law.
You said for the past 3 years. Were they able to ask him questions during that period? All these corrupt elements defender

I really wonder why people are saying that corrupt officials should be charged to courts...really want one judge to defend them and get them released like Saraki eh!!! As for me it is barbaric for anyone to use public funds as his personal funds so I believe the person should be given a jungle justice just like a common thief because that is exactly who they are... common thief ... they should be burnt alive

Buhari is a disease

1.3 billion dollars multiply by 360 naira is 468, 000,000,000 naira. That's a huge amount of money.
Secondly, the supports of people like you for those looters who don't care about you and me are what got us to where we are today.
And lastly, Buhari is the best thing to ever happen to Nigeria since 1999 and it may remain so till the end of this century. Don't forget that

A man who has Tinubu as a political ally would never earn my respect as an anti corruption Crusader .... Buhari's so called anti graft warfare is a farce gone too far. It's merely a tool to repress the opposition - when i start seeing EFCC detain top members of the APC then we can start taking them serious.

Tinubu is clean now. If you are still in doubt, ask Jonathan. He took him to court and he was freed.

Files hidden.... where or is it not the same sitting governors that they froze the accounts severally?

Also mind you, he wasnt a sitting governor when these allegations surfaced o, so what documents could have exchanged hands through the governors office when he wasnt the governor yet.

Also, lets say we agree that there is document and as a governor, he didnt release any document which i dont think has anything to do with Ekiti state finances for over 3years, why not wait for Fayemi to point out what is wrong with ekiti state finances before concluding. Let Ekiti state do their audits and if they find any money from Dansuki there, they should head straight to courts to tender their evidences.

What even assures them he hasn't even destroyed any evidences within those 3years. This is a man that handed over early enough so am sure he knows what he is doing.

There is no other name for bad than bad and efcc has shown they are juat witchhunting. nothing more

Imagine what buhari would have used his rabid dogs, EFCC to do if it were a PDP governor that was caught on camera receiving bribe.

Condemned criminals like Amaechi, tinubu, Oshiomhole, Akpabio, Ganduje and all other thieves in a APC are walking free, lets see how this will end. What i know is that buhari will not end well and he won't stay in power forever

Buhari is a disease that must be cured in 2019

He could have done nothing because of his immunity, thanks to to PDP.
And APC ex political office holders are currently serving jail terms, so don't get emotional here.
And Buhari will end well, well and well

So the EFCC have been idle as usual while doing their propaganda media war.The agency should have gather it evidence & be talking of effective prosecution by now .Alas! it's business as usual.Magu is useless.

If they had insisted on staying na you for still shout say dem obstruct justice.
It is a shameful thing for Government to use the machinery of law enforcement as tool of political witch hunting. This is especially so when the head of the government is an old man that should otherwise know the negative implication of such precedence. Where is Oshomole, babachir, Tinubu and the others. When you see injustice call it by its real name.
