This is exactly why we are all a mess in Nigeria. No one cares about qualifications, all we care about is religious, political and tribal affiliations. If a Christian is the best for certain positions let him or her be and if a Muslim is best for other position so be it. Let's put people that can actually get the work done for freakin sake!

I don't think Muslims in Ondo state are up to 40 percent but as I don't live in the state. That's the beauty of democracy, you can exercise your rights which they did.

Better they wait till he finish constituting his cabinet and besides we Yoruba don't often play the politics of Muslim/ Christian thing, it belongs to the other crying people (You know them ).

Ekiti is a secular state mainly dominated by the Christians. If there is any cry from the Muslim youth... They should ask their leaders how it has been in the time past. I really don't think their population is up to 20%....

The National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations, NACOMYO, has faulted the first appointments made by newly-inaugurated Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

The religious youth group said the appointment was lopsided and totally marginalized the Muslim community in Ekiti State.

The organization said this during a protest held at the Central Mosque, Ado Ekiti, on Thursday.

The Coordinator of NACOMYO in the state, Tajudeen Olutope Ahmed, pointed out that excluding Muslim from the first three appointments announced by the governor was “shocking and highly disturbing to all Muslim in the state.”

Fayemi had yesterday announced the appointments of Abiodun Oyebanji as Secretary to the State Government; Biodun Omoleye as Chief of Staff and Yinka Oyebode as his Chief Press Secretary.

NACOMYO said Muslims in the state constitute about 40 per cent of the population, adding that the governor was given their total support by voting massively for him during the governorship polls.

They said, “The exclusion of Muslims from the entire membership of the core principal officers of this administration is therefore worrisome, unjust, condemnable and unacceptable. We see it as a calculated attempt to exclude Muslims from the fundamental aspect of decision making process in Ekiti State.

“The exclusion of the Muslims in this regard is a violation of the fundamental objectives and directive principles of state policy as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended).

“The exclusion of Muslims from the core principal appointments of Dr. John Kayode Fayemi is a derogation of the motto of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as provided in Section 15 (1) of the 1999 constitution (as amended). Rather than projecting ‘Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress’; the recent appointments made by the Government will breed “disunity, commotion and backwardness.

“We also call on the governor to ensure inclusion of Muslims in all appointments to be made in future at both state and local government levels this will pave the way for the reign of justice, equity and peace in the state.”

These Muslim youths should be conscious of their attitude because it is really bad if religious politics enter Yoruba land.

I always have respect for Yoruba religious tolerance but recent events is a danger signal no thanks to Buhari who started everything about religious politics in 2003 when he asked Muslims to vote a Muslim candidate.

In 2011 his party symbol was a Muslim school pencil. It shall never be well with Buhari

My people in Ekiti have started their wahala with Fayemi again! Fayose was tagged as a thug, now they are hanging religious sentiment on Fayemi. The Muslim population in Ekiti can not be more than 25% and they are majorly found in Ado Ekiti. What we should be concerned mostly in Ekiti should be good governance and not religious concern.

Muslims in Ekiti are less than 8%, and they are mainly migrants from neighboring states.

In Oyo state where we have 50/50 of Christians and Muslims, Muslims have ruled for almost 15years of Democracy.

Engr. Seyi Makinde under the platform of PDP ☔
Vote wisely!
Yeah Seyi Makinde would have been a better option but the emergency of Adelabu from Apc has changed the minds of Ibadan indigenes they prefer him to Seyi what a masterstroke from Jagaban , even Lanlehin of Adc will do far better than Seyi. He is just an over ambitious Politician who thinks he can manouver his with his money but now as regards far Ibadan politics is concerned Seyi is a Political orphan now. Why do you think Seyi was complaining when Adelabu emerged winner of Apc guber primaries

When the MURIC spokesman was campaigning against Fayose the other time that all his cabinet are Christian that MUSLIM should not vote for PDP I was looking at him in 3D his thinking was that MUSLIMS are many in EKITI after Christians even traditional worshippers are more than MUSLIM in EKITi If a MUSLIM see an appointment in EKITI may be is just 3 office they will give them

Yoruba and self-deceit are second to none, claiming they do not care about religion is delusional. there is on going silent war between Christians and Muslims in many yoruba towns. you might not notice this in places like ibadan and lagos.

The Christian West is playing with fire and by the time they will realize it, it would have been late. Nigeria islamization is made possible by the West. Now I know why we should not be of equal yoke with unbelievers.

Why don't you go ahead and give examples of this "silent war" and how it affects the Yoruba in general?
Call it whatever you want but if you are Yoruba you will understand why it is almost impossible for Yorubas to fight each other over religion. You may wish they fight each other but unfortunately for you that is never going to happen.
