As the 2019 general elections approach, Muslims of Igbo extraction have been urged to join political parties and contest positions of choice but warned against pitching tent with politicians who have not taken their welfare and wellbeing as a paramount issue at both federal and state levels.

A socio-cultural Igbo group, South Eastern Muslims Organization of Nigeria (SEMON) handed the warning to Muslims in the region in a statement signed by its national chairman and national secretary, Muhammad O. Ajah and Abdurrahman Nwabueze Urama, respectively.

The educational advantage Awolowo gave the Yorubas after the civil war has been destroyed with the taking over of the north all yoruba states. We now have entire yoruba families who has refused education because of religion.

Muslims have tried endlessly to penetrate igbo land with their religion but have remained largely unsuccessful.

only in a very tiny community near afikpo in ebonyi state ..(i have been there) hausa people built a very big islamic school and lure the very poor indigines with free education....still they didn't capture the whole people only a few misguided ones
