in a recent interview with Punch, the spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential campaign organization, Segun Showunmi, says the ban on Atiku's US visa can be revoked anytime soon.

Showunmi said this while responding to a question on whether Atiku's performance might be hindered by the visa ban placed on him if he emerges the winner of the February 14th 2019 presidential election.

In his response, Showunmi said as much as the visa is important, Nigeria needs a president that would not be globetrotting but would stay home to fix the problems for which he was elected.

''All nations are sovereign entity. Each of the entity has to jealously guard its sovereignty. Within that broad concept, nations have the right to determine their own visa rules – how to give out visa, who should be given and who should not have it. Some of the reasons for such action are really, never made clear. Each country has its own administrative policy of visa issuance. We are the biggest black nation in the world. We should not insist that the evaluation of our own leaders should be based on a subjective issue around visa. One of the bigger economies of the world now is India. For one reason or the other, their Prime Minister, at one point or the other, had some administrative restrictions on his visit to America for a while. But when he became the Prime Minister of his country, he had visited America a couple of times. For all you know, this (Atiku visa’s) restriction may be removed even tomorrow. It does not mean that Atiku has never been to America before or he cannot visit America in the future. We even need a Nigerian President that would stay at home and work for Nigerians, not a globetrotter, who will be travelling from one country to the other when there are lots of issues that need his attention at home'' he said

Better to remain in Nigeria than go to USA and be called "Lifeless"

That mockery alone is enough to kill someone's self esteem.

yes!!! we need a president who will stay in nigeria and solve his citizen problem.
a leader who will dev the nation and make us think twice before going abroad.
not a leader who use two third of his administration to tour around the world.
ATIKU MIGHT NOT BE THE BEST,BUT HE IS FAR BETTER THAN THE Lifeless one

Atiku was not banned from entering the U.S.A. He stayed away to avoid prosecution. All these talk about revoking his visa ban is crap. Atiku had U.S. residency/ Green Card which he abandoned by staying out of US for more time than permissible. He hurriedly sold his house in Potomac, Maryland and absconded. Most of his other assets he sold through proxy and power of attorney.

Since he had abandoned his residency, the embassy will gladly grant him a visitor's visa if he applied for one. But he has refused to apply for any because he knows that there his no statute of limitation on the warrant placed on his name since all the co- defendants in his case were jailed and paid their price to society.
FYI, its not only USA that he cannot visit. He knows that if he step his foot on any American base in Europe for example or in any U.S bases anywhere in the world, he would be arrested.

Atiku has no case to answer therefore the lifting of the ban is already imminent. I am too confident of his emergence in 2019!

There are two issues here, the first issue is that Atiku is working hard to see if the US will lift his ban, this is possible because Atiku's Senate indictment in 2010 was orchestrated by Obasanjo's Transparency International, Atiku may feel that being in good terms with Obasanjo will undo the damage, well, I can tell you for free that such a move has no precedence.

Lets look at Atiku's cases once again, He was indicted by the Senate committee on homeland security for money laundering to the tune of $40m, A senate indictment can only be vacated with a presidential pardon or court order, does Atiku qualify for a presidential pardon in the US? hell no!! If Trump even contemplates that, he risks impeachment. Can he vacate it in court? hell no!! I will explain why later.

The second crime of Atiku in the US was bribery of a public official this is an old gist because Atiku's indictment was used to convict Jefferson a congress man, people always wonder, why was Atiku indicted when it was Jefferson that offered the bribe? The answer lies with the US penal code 201 "titled bribery of public officials", if you take time to peruse that document, you will realize that he who asks for a bribe, gave a bribe or collected a bribe is guilty of bribery with a 15yrs maximum sentence as penalty.
FBI deposed an affidavit in court during the Jefferson trial that they caught Atiku, Yahaya & Jennifer his wife on tape willing to play ball with Jefferson's bribe.
Out of the 16 counts indictment charges on Jefferson, only 2 concerned Atiku, fortunately, Atiku escaped the first count which is violation of the foreign corrupt practice act (FCPA), Judge T.S Ellis at the time let Atiku and his gang off the hook but he upheld his second indictment of Bribery which eventually was used to convict Jefferson. so when next the Atikulators of today ignorantly ask you like they asked us in 2007, where is Atiku's indictment? ask them why was Atiku's indictment used to Jail someone if it doesn't exist? dont get it twisted here because those guys are pretty smart, Atiku's indictment is not the only indictment that Jailed Jefferson, Atiku contributed just 1 out of the 11 indictments, Bribery!!
What can Atiku do to make this go away? the only way out is for Atiku to go and stand trial in a US court on 1 count of bribery of public official but that will be very risky because the FBI deposed an affidavit during the Jefferson trial, that they caught the conversation on tape because unknown to them Lori Mody wore a wire through out their conversations, such evidence is overwhelming so it is unlikely Atiku will escape it, just like Jefferson didn't. So this news is total nonsense, Atiku's case is hopeless.

Finally, let us take a cursory look at the case of Prime Minister Mordi of India to prove once again that Atikulators are hopeless liars, Mordi was accused by the US of supporting Hindus during the Muslim-hindu riots when he was still a governor, despite appealing to the US that he was not the commander in chief at the time, the US went ahead to place him on a visa ban for violating the freedom of religion act.
When india became the 4th most powerful nation in the world, Obama decided to strengthen ties with Mordi because Mordi has risen to become the prime minister.

Obama made the following considerations;

India has become strong enough to balance power in Asia against china, Nigeria is nowhere close to that global feat, so Atiku should stop wasting his hopes.
The offence accused Mordi of was not committed on US soil unlike Atiku that committed two felonies on US soil (Bribery and Money Laundering)
No court even in India found Mordi guilty of the said offence, the top on the list of obama's considerations was that
Mordi was the only HUMAN BEING ON EARTH on Freedom of religious ban at the time (Atiku is not the only criminal in the world), so Obama thought it was unfair to him and also he wasn't the commander in chief that controlled the armed forces that committed those atrocities, based on all these considerations, Prime minister Mordi was removed from that visa ban.
Those that can reason, please can you tell me any of those considerations Atiku will qualify?
It is impossible for Atiku's US sins to disappear however OBJ tries, only time will tell.
Atiku is so crooked that he cant even sell a proper lie to sound convincing grin grin

The amount of stress the poster above went through....
Objectively speaking, Nigeria is a sovereign nation and does not need some visa ban to chose her President.
