They are most likely theives. They must have expected that since students were out on founders day celebration then it would be a clean sweep. Good for the camera guy, because if anything got lost in the hall it is students that stayed back that would have been blamed.

You are right... It is not lack that drives many to steal but greed. If a university like Stanford in the US can record theft then i am not surprised
