Wrong.
When you leave your smartphone plugged in for long periods of time it will automatically stop charging itself once the battery is full.
Nice one.

Most smartphones today make use of Lithium Ion Battries.

Lithium batteries are "smart batteries" meaning that when you charge them up to their maximum, the charge intake stops automatically after trickle stage. It does not swell from overcharging and also when the battery is drained, it has what is known as a default in-storage capacity that keeps it alive until it becomes recharged again.

That's why you can leave a lithium ion battery which has been drained to even 1% for years and once you charge it again, it still works unlike nickel or acid batteries.

I will charge my phone 24/7 if possible. I only unplug my phone when power goes out. Naija condition.

Batieries' life is in cycles.

If for example a battery has 330 cycles (say inverter battery) and you use it to 0%, that's 1 cycle gone, remaining 329cycles. And so on until your battery can't last as when you bought it new.

Also, overcharging means that you your battery will receive charge electrons, even when it is full. Think about it, if you eat rice to your fill but someone still forces food down your throat, how does it feel?

YOU GUYS SHOULD GO N SIT DOWN. IF BATTERY GO LAST E GO LAST

WHY WONT I USE MY PHONE WHILE CHARGING IT?

UNTIL THEY MANUFACTURE A BATTERY THAT CAN LAST FOR A YEAR, THEN WE CAN TALK ON HOW WE CAN PRESERVE THE LIFE .

Nice post!

My advice, however, is that you shouldn't use images you don't have rights to. Shutterstock makes a large chunk of money suing people using their copyrighted works.

Even if your battery is fully charged, leave it plugged and keep using it because power supply is not stable.
If the the battery get spoils buy another grin
