The South West would be crucial to Atiku's Victory. My advise is for him to pick a proposed SGF from the South-West now and not wait till after election. If it doesn't break campaign rules, the picture of the proposed SGF should be included in the campaign posters/bill boards of Atiku/Obi situated particularly in the South West.

He needs to create a mental equivalence of the VP and SGF in the heart of every Yoruba man alive. There's a real risk for the South West in this election. If Buhari loses the SW and by extension the election, it would severely reduce the electoral value of the South West which would encourage other candidates to look elsewhere for alliances since the Osinbanjo presence couldn't win the Zone over for Buhari.

The South West is truly playing to the tune of advanced democracy where votes are issue based, but the zone is advised not to throw caution to the wind especially In a country where the other five zones are going to put ethnicity as a core motivation for voting.

Sophisticated nepotism coming from a warped mentality.

You must not involve insult bro. This is the reason we mostly have it pitted with other tribes(as much as I don't like the way this hell hole of a country is constituted right now) Let's always respect each other, at least as humans.

Make your point and leave tribalism!

If you like lie to yourselves, Nigeria as it is now is every region on its own, Atiku need to name his SGF now before election, Northerners are not ready to give anyone presidency, SW thinking North will vote for them is so funny when they see them as betrayals especially Obasanjo and Jonathan regime SE as trying to divide the country, even when Buhari took power, did you see how he treated Tinubu,so long as Nigeria is together North will always support their own and will continue to be President, they are not ready to give it to anyone, that is why Atiku might win, because power will still go back to the north for another 8 years... Sorry guys

This statement is highly sensitive. However...who is these Igbo leaders that are kin to sabotage Peter Obi? .y second choice would have been Ngozi but Peter Obi is a perfect selection. Ngozi must be recalled to handle finance.

Do you really think under any circumstances, the SW is ready and willing to reject VP Osinbajo and a shot at the presidency in 2023 in favor of atiku and obi?

And talking about mental equivalence of the VP, do you really think the folks in the SW are too dumb and stupiid to spot the difference between VP position and common SGF and the fact that it means they have to give up the presidency in 2013 all because they prefer and think obi is better than VP Osinbajo?

At the moment, Atiku is less relevant in the SW and you think on top of that, they have to reject VP Osinbajo for obi from the SE?

Adjust your analysis with logic and obvious realities.

The SW is not a one-party region because votes are "issues based". I live in Lagos here and elections have nothing to do with substantive issues (tax proposals, business regulation, healthcare etc). Funso Williams and Jimi Agbaje could have been good governors too, but the prevailing mentality among many is simply "APC is our party, so we will vote APC".
Ethnicity becomes a motivation for voting if any section feels marginalized. Igbos for example have rejected Buhari's candidacy despite his having Okadigbo and Ume-Ezeoke as running mates, and instead supported OBJ and Yar Adua. Igbos were the most loyal supporters of GEJ despite the fact he's Ijaw. Going forward, Igbo votes will become increasingly ethnicized because of the decades spent out of power since the civil war. If there is perception of injustice, people's votes will be increasingly motivated by parochial interests to balance the perceived injustice. There is no advanced democracy anywhere in Nigeria.

I don't know why some people are working their selves up over Yorubas, they derailed from the message the post/news is trying to pass along and focusing on yorubas calling then afonja up n down, what NY... are saying is that there are some easterners who are working against obi candidacy which is obvious and we all know, they should be cautioned and have their hands on deck for emergence of Atiku n obi, as far as am concerned a lot of yorubas who doesn't play partisan politics are down for atiku and if some people are still not convinced cos of their hate for yorubas carry on the lord is ur strength nobody has that time to start convincing anybody it is what it is, if obi's body language changes as time goes on even me we dey support him and Atiku for here would b d first to criticise him lobatan
