When the name Ameyo Adadevoh springs up, a number of Nigerians wouldn't know what could actually be attributed to it. However, the aforementioned name deserves accreditation however little.
Today Google pays tribute to Ameyo Adadevoh, who celebrates her posthumous 62nd birthday and is unequivocally a hero of our beloved Nigeria with its logo. She was a Physician and is credited with curbing the notorious Ebola virus disease.
In July 2014, Patrick Sawyer graced our nation, albeit being ill, collapsed at the airport and insisted on having a bad case of malaria at the hospital. Dr. Adadevoh however correctly diagnosed Sawyer of Ebola and prevented the index case from leaving the First Consultant Hospital in Lagos despite pressures from the Librarian government. Adadevoh placed the patient in a quarantine thereby preventing the spread of the virus. It should be noted that at the time, necessary protective equipment were not available, Adadevoh however created an isolation area by creating a wooden barricade outside Patrick Sawyer's door. Sawyer eventually passed away 24th July, 2014. Adadevoh however, on 4th August, 2014 tested positive for Ebola and passed away on 19th August, 2014.
Her body was decontaminated and cremated by the government in response to the containment of the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease. Her family obtained her ashes and held a private interment ceremony on 12 September 2014, in Lagos.
Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh has been honoured with a number of posthumous awards, among them being the Posthumous Rotary Award which was given by the Rotary Club of Abuja Metro (RCAM), she was also bestowed with an Honorary Doctorate degree by Baze University, Abuja. She is survived by her husband and son, Bankole, an entrepreneur and co-founder of Easy Taxi Nigeria.

She is the Nigerian Heroine of the decade, sadly this current government haven't found it fit to organize a national award not to talk of recognizing her.

The best way to fight corruption isn't through medial trial of political opponents, or ignoring political associates alleged Corruption, It is by awarding and recognizing heroes especially women so laid down their life's for this country.
