Babatunde Raji Fashola: The Most Corrupt Minister After Buhari by ZombieNation: 3:53pm On Nov 02, 2018
Raji Fashola of the Ministry of Power, Works & Housing is by far the most corrupt minister ever second only to M.Buhari of the Ministry of Petroleum.

Fashola's corrupt practices as super minister is so mind boggling that if Nigerians should just get a glimpse of his corrupt activities these past 3years, most will lose total hope on Nigeria ever recovering.

Apart from awarding fictitious contracts to himself, family members, friends and cronies, Fashola also operates a kick back operation that will make Gandollar look like a common Kano Almajiri begging for alms. Other than kick backs and fictitious contracts, Fashola also connived with the sleazy DISCOs to Jack up cost of electricity tariffs from where he enjoys a generous tip off. Fashola also turns a blind eye to the sharp practices of DISCOs rejecting power supplies from GENCOs and TRANSCOs thereby depriving the consumer of steady power supply but an increasing monthly bill. This is why he is not ready to compel the DISCOs to install pre-paid meters. The fallout of this sharp practice by Fashola and the criminal DISCOs is that the consumers are deprived power supply but still to cough out exorbitant amounts as estimated monthly bills. But given that the DISCOs deliberately reject power supply from GENCOs, leave the GENCOs running at a major loss. This is why serial power generation collapse has been a hallmark of his administration.

Fashola remains the worst and most corrupt minister since independence.

This is why Fashola is desperately begging his yoruba people to vote Buhari in the hopes of a phantom Yoruba presidency. He knows he can not afford to leave office for the opposition.

Come May 29, 2019 all will be laid bare.

This is the most stupid topic I have read on Nairaland this week.

But it's okay. Character defamation and accusations without facts is not a new thing in Nigerian politics.

Aside from political propaganda..the power sector is on area God needs to come down to earth and help us look into( pls no laugh).
There's so much corruption going on in the power sector that since after independence we still can't get it right...black outs here and there, meters are rusting and wasting away in Phcn offices instead of being distributed to consumers...police stations, hospitals , govt agencies still using generators to power offices. Even the so called Minister of power uses generator to power his office..Okokobioko!

That's because universal metering will put an end to the exploitative billing regime of estimation which the DISCOs are raking in massive revenue at the detriment of both the GENCOs and TRANSCOs.

This is why despite several national grid collapse to zero wattage, the DISCOs still have the audacity to bring bills to consumers.

On your take that only heaven can help us in improving power supply, just know that there is money to be made by same power company executives who also are the major importers of home generators.

The irony of it all is that Nigerians are the only peoples on earth who can both afford to buy home generators and need it at the same time.

The average American can afford to buy a generator but don't need it. A Somali is in desperate need of home generators as that country's grid has since collapsed but their citizens are too poor to afford one.

The major problem of the power sector is massive corruption coupled with a centralized national grid system.

There is also a lot of politics as well, because your average consumer in say PH pays more than his counterpart in Sokoto. The Buhari govt is more interested in providing power supply freely to the north than to areas in the south where it is much needed to drive the economy. At the end of the day, a consumer in places like PH or Uyo subsidises the cost of power in places like Sokoto. We see this same skewed system in place in the downstream sector of the oil industry where the landing cost of fuel in Lagos jetties is calculated on how much it will take to transport same fuel to the most northernmost parts of Borno state.

The north is being subsidised on so many levels by the south that they can never agree to a restructuring of the current centralized system.

Idiots like Fashola exploits the south financially and patronise the north with subsidies for political gain.

It is not limited to him alone. We also have idiots like Amaechi who thinks it is more politically expedient on his part to degenerate his own region to please others.

It is on record that fashola is in cahoots with the DISCOS to exploit Nigerian consumers at the detriment of GENCOS. This is why they have never attained the 7,000MW capacity that GEJ rolled out.

In all these...I think we the southerners and our southern leaders in the helm of affairs are the major cause of our past, present and future sufferings...if anyone needs to know how...maybe we should sit in my grandma's hut over a plate of nsala soup and poundo come Dec to discuss about it.
