1. Turn your headlights on

Turning your headlights on will help you be able to see the vehicles ahead of you. 

When it rains, visibility is normally lower and therefore turning these lights on makes it easier to spot vehicles ahead. 

2. Limit your speed

Due to low visibility, over speeding can easily cause an accident. 

Limiting your speed is also important as it is hard to brake your car due to the slipperiness of the roads.

3. Keep distant with the car ahead of you

Stay a distance away from the car ahead of you. 

Again this is because the road is quite slippery and stopping the car in case of emergency is usually hard. 

It will only slide into the car ahead or even fall off the road. 

 4. Be ready with the brakes

Always make sure your foot is ready for the brakes. During rains, you never know what is ahead. 

Therefore you must be alert on your brakes to avoid accidents.

5. Often wipe the windscreen

When it rains, the windscreen appears to be misty. This blocks visibility for you as a driver. 

You should, therefore, wipe your screen as often as you can so that you have a clearer focus of what is ahead of you.
