Thats the doctrine of the church, u dnt wear trouser to a church where their members doesn't wear it and expect them to welcome u with an open arms because u're a new comer... If you were going to see the president and you're not supposed to wear trousers, you definitely would not object but because it's about Christianity you are seeing it as a big deal. If you weren't allowed to enter, you should just stay outside since you came for the wedding and not to worship in the church.

I have been in a wedding were the mother of the bride insisted that her friend will not enter the reception hall because all her cleavages were almost falling off her short dress.
