Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja

The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, has challenged a journalist questioning the source of wealth of All Progressives Congress chieftain, Bola Tinubu.

He simply asked the journalist to write a petition against Tinubu and substantiate his allegations.

Magu gave the charge in Abuja on Monday while fielding questions from reporters at an event held in commemoration of his third year in office.

A journalist had asked Magu when he would probe Tinubu who had purportedly claimed in a video in August that he was richer than Osun State.

The journalist also asked why Magu was refusing to answer questions on the video which allegedly captured the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, receiving bribes from contractors.

In his response, Magu said, “You know what? If you are really interested, write a petition and see whether I won’t act. Go and write a petition and substantiate in the petition and find out if I won’t act. It is not for us to listen to people on radio and begin to act. Yes, we have intelligence but the surest way to get action is to go and write a petition and substantiate the contents of the petition and see whether I will not act.”

Senseless Buhari hunts-dog, the petitions written against, Maina, Babachir, Kyari are still unattended among the piles of papers littering your unkempt headquarters of selective prosecutions.

This idiotic Mugu is asking for petitions, my people, what sort of petition does the videotapes and evidences against Benjamin “BullionVan” Abdullathief Gandollar require before a reputable government agency takes appropriate action?

It’s a pity all those supporters of Jubril here on Nairaland are doing their pathetic job just for the sake of their N30,000 monthly pay, it was evident on the thread where these fools exonerated Akpabio from the alleged 16 years PDP misrule, while him, Akpabio, was a grand commander during those Years among PDP

Tinubu is not untouchable undecided

His wealth is beyond imagination and funny thing is he thinks people are ignorant of that fact. His empire would fall one day. Ask Mugabe, ask Zuma, ask former Gambia President and ask Gaddaffi angry

Your Hero Jonathan was in power for 6years. He had all the powers and resources to prosecute Tinubu. Court , like EFCC Chairman had said , does not listen to beer parlour information/ evidence. Provide EFCC with evidence and see it Tinubu would be prosecuted. The onus lies on you.

This reply is OK, but outrightly ignoring the Ganduje question posed by another journalist, sends negative tones. He would have at least say the suspect still enjoys immunity from prosecution for now.

And what have the APC-infected EFCC done about the petitions against most of the high profile persons in this government? Why is the EFCC reluctant to investigate Akpabio, Ganduje, VP Osinbajo NEMA scandal etc?
