In a bid to end the ongoing strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities since 5th of November, the Federal Government is expected to hold another emergency meeting with the union executives.

It will be recalled that the last meeting held in November 15th which lasted for about six hours, ended in a deadlock as both parties refuse to come to a compromise.

According to the ASUU president, prof Biodun Ogunyemi who stressed that the meeting is to address the 2017 memorandum of Action which he claimed the Federal Government neglected.

The Federal Government delegation led by the minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige and the minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, will this evening, 26th of November meet with the Union Executive.

We sincerely pray and hope that today's meeting will bring to an end the unpleasant scourge of the ongoing strike for interest of the Nigerian students.
