Q: How do I face a marriage challenge?

A: Believers are not immune to marriage challenges. In fact, marriage—especially among believers—is a prime target for the enemy.

The good news is that as believers we have a weapon that works every time against our enemy.

It’s the same weapon that snatched us out of Satan’s grasp when we were born again. That weapon is the God kind of love.

The God kind of love tears down the walls Satan tries to build between husbands and wives. It completely obliterates strife, bitterness and hurt feelings.

First Corinthians 13:4-8 describes how the God kind of love behaves. It never fails! It goes beyond the capability of human love and straight to the root of the problem.

One of the greatest acts of love is intercession—prayer unselfishly offered for another person until there is a breakthrough.

As you pray for your spouse, you make “tremendous power available—dynamic in its working” (James 5:16). The power of God removes the blinders and shines the light of the gospel into his or her heart!

Let the example of Jesus be your guide as you purpose to love your spouse as Jesus loves you. Lay down your own needs and desires in deference to your spouse.

He or she will respond by loving you, even as the Bible says we respond to Jesus’ love. “We love him, because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

When you pray, see your spouse the way God sees them, and when you are in your spouse’s presence your heart will be soft toward him or her.

You will operate in the God kind of love that “knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything” (1 Corinthians 13:7). This kind of love never fails!

Q: What is the scriptural foundation for healing?

A: The foundation for our belief in divine healing begins with the study of salvation. Our salvation through Jesus is sufficient to redeem us from both the nature and curse of sin (Romans 5:12; Galatians 3:13-14; Deuteronomy 28:15-68).

There is a connection between the Greek word for salvation, soteria, and the Hebrew word shalom, or peace.

The word shalom means "completeness, wholeness, peace, health, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, absence of agitation or discord, to be complete, perfect and full."

This covenant of salvation and peace that we have received through Jesus provides complete wholeness with “nothing missing, nothing broken.”

Isaiah 53:5 said Jesus took the punishment necessary to bring us this wholeness. His peace encompasses every area of life—including physical healing.

One of the most compelling arguments for divine healing is the fact that Jesus healed people throughout His earthly ministry. And according to the Bible, Jesus fulfilled the will of His Father when He healed people (John 4:34; 17:4).

The fact that healing is God’s will should not be surprising when we note that God has always wanted His people well (Exodus 15:26).

Healing was a fundamental component of the ministry of Jesus.

Matthew 8:16-17 says, “That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, 'He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.'”

These verses make it particularly clear that the sicknesses and diseases Jesus healed were not only spiritual, but also physical.

And that physical healing was part of a true fulfillment of Isaiah 53:5 which says, “But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed” (also see Luke 4:18-19; 1 Peter 2:24).

When Jesus sent out His disciples to minister in His name, He told them, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!” (Matthew 10:cool.

We find no indication the disciples were ever under the impression that healing should cease. Instead, we find them still ministering healing after Jesus had left the earth (Acts 5:12-16).

Today, healing is an essential part of the Great Commission listed among the signs that shall follow them that believe (Mark 16:15-18). The healing power of the gospel is as viable today as it was in the early Church!

FAQ (2)

Q: How do I help someone find Jesus?

A: Nothing is more exciting or rewarding than sharing Jesus with someone else. Just simply sharing your testimony of how you gave your life to Jesus is a tremendous start.

The Holy Spirit made you a new creation when you made Jesus your Lord (Romans 5:5; 2 Corinthians 5:17). And your spirit man received the nature of God (including His love).

But to walk in the power of God, you need to receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, which includes the ability to speak in other tongues.

This ability is invaluable when you’re praying for those to whom you want to witness (Romans 8:26-27). You can only grow more effective as you read and meditate on His Word.

Allow your faith to grow and do not hesitate to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to work and pray through you.

Another huge asset in your witnessing is the boldness that comes from understanding that you are in right-standing with God.

Right-standing is not something you can obtain by self-effort. Boldness to witness happens when you understand that in Jesus you have been made the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 3:22).

This gives you the assurance that He is on your side (Isaiah 32:17). It’s a benefit you’ve been given in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 3:12).

Any shyness will leave as you spend time in prayer and in God’s Word, and grow in the understanding of who you are in Jesus and the power of His Holy Spirit.

You will not always have to go out and find people to witness to; they will start coming to you.

Your very lifestyle—just the way you live your life each day for the Lord—will become a powerful example to the people you come in contact with, and they will want what you have!

FAQ (3)

Q: Why should a wife submit to her husband?

A: Submission has to do with order—not subordination. In the spirit world, there is no difference between men and women.

In the natural realm, however, God has established a rank of authority in order to maintain order and avoid confusion.

Ephesians 5:22 says, “For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord.” This is not elevation of the man above the woman in importance, power, anointing or revelation. It simply means that in the home, the husband is the leader.

The husband and wife should operate together in faith as one unit. This is the reason Ephesians 6:1 says, “Children, obey your parents...” instead of “Children, obey your father....” The woman has just as much spiritual authority as the man.

In the beginning, God placed the man and woman side by side, as equals.

When Eve allowed Satan to use her, she fell to a subordinate position.

However, Jesus changed all that! He brought the woman back to a position equal to the man. He raised them up together and made them sit in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).

Q: What is the true Church?

A: The true Church cannot be found by comparing one denomination, church group or ministry to another. The simple answer is the Body of Christ is the true Church (Ephesians 1:22-23).

When a person makes Jesus Christ his Lord, he becomes a part of the Body of Christ (Romans 10:9-10).

The Church is characterized by the fivefold ministry listed in Ephesians 4:11-16 for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and for the building up of the Body of Christ until the entire Body could come into the unity of the faith.

There are ministries across this entire country preaching the uncompromised gospel without apology.

Folajinmi Awujoola Ministries does not make comparisons of different churches. We believe this would show poor Christian character to compare one church or denomination to another.

It is not the church or denomination that God honors, it is the person who walks by faith and stands on His Word (Hebrews 11:6). Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

FAQ (2)

Q: How do I receive faith?

A: A new and exciting life plan especially designed by God is part of the inheritance you receive when you make Jesus the Lord of your life!

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

That grand plan is impossible to accomplish in your own strength. The only way to do it is through faith.

Hebrews 11:6 says, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

Now don’t get intimidated by that verse, wondering if your faith is good enough to receive from God. The great news of Hebrews 11:6 is that it is not impossible to have this kind of faith.

In fact, the kind of faith God is looking for can be boiled down to two main characteristics:

1. It believes God is.
2. It believes God rewards those who diligently seek Him.

You don’t need extraordinary abilities to receive from God. You simply have to believe that God really exists and that He will reward you as you seek after Him!

Hebrews chapter 11 is filled with stories about people who simply believed God and trusted that He would reward them if they followed His leading.

We encourage you to read this chapter in your Bible and take note of the people that fulfilled their life purpose by trusting in God.

Then, read about their lives in more detail in the Old Testament. Here are some of those Old Testament men and women who trusted God:

Abel (Genesis 4); Noah (Genesis 6-9); Abraham (Genesis 12-25); Sarah (Genesis 17-21); Isaac (Genesis 17-35); Jacob (Genesis 25-37); Joseph (Genesis 37-50); Moses (Exodus 1-40); Joshua (Joshua 1-6); Rahab (Joshua 2-6); Barak (Judges 4-5); Gideon (Judges 6-cool; Jephthah (Judges 11-12); Samson (Judges 13-16); Samuel and David (1 Samuel 1-2 Samuel 24); Daniel (Daniel 1-12).

Like all of these great men and women, you can have the kind of faith that pleases God. And you don’t have to do it all on your own!

Success as a Christian is not about having “big” faith, but rather about having faith in a big God.

Q: Is the tithe for today?

A: Some believers think tithing started with the old covenant Law of Moses. Certainly the Law gave instruction on how to bring the tithe to the Lord. But a tithe was brought to the Lord hundreds of years earlier before the Law existed.

Abram (Abraham) gave a tithe in Genesis 14:17-24. There we read about him giving a tithe out of gratitude for God’s prosperity on his work and in battle against his enemies.

Abram’s tithe was a heart action, not a legal action. Jesus did not come to do away with this testimony and expression of gratitude for God as our Source.

The old covenant no more instituted the tithe than the new covenant made the tithe pass away. Giving has always been a matter of the heart, not a matter of law. Today, we offer our tithe to Jesus in an attitude of worship (Hebrews 6:20 and 7:1).

My personal conviction is to tithe on the gross of all income that comes into my hands (Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:8-11). I know the Lord will always bless me above what I can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

Tithing is just the beginning of God’s system of living, because we can give of ourselves every day!

Whether it’s being kind to another person or sharing the good news of the gospel with someone in need, God desires we be a giving people.

We encourage you to commit to the Lord to give of yourself as He directs. Whether it’s your time, talents, finances or abilities, God will use and reward your seed sown (Hebrews 11:6)!

FAQ (1)

Q: How can God be good if there is so much bad in the world?

A: The answer to this question is simple, and it is found in 1 John 4:8: “God is love.” All aspects of God’s nature begin with that single characteristic—God is a God of love and compassion, and His intentions for mankind have always been for good (Genesis 1-2).

Why then, does the world continue to have death, wars and heartache?

Because of mankind’s choice to reject God’s good plan (Genesis 3). Death and destruction are not God’s plan. They are simply the result of men and women using their God-given right of choice to choose death instead of life.

Even in this condition of destruction and heartache, God’s love is displayed. He has given us a way out—the option of choosing life by making Jesus our Lord and Savior (John 14:6)!

The Word of God says if we believe with our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess Jesus as our Lord, we will be saved (Romans 10:9-10).

The choice God offers is not to follow a religion or a system of beliefs. Instead, it is to allow Him to totally change us on the inside and make us new creations in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17).

There is only one true God. So our focus cannot ultimately be to find a god that fits our concept of what a god should be, but instead to see the one true God for who He is and accept the salvation He offers.

Unconditional love offers salvation as a free gift made possible through the sacrifice Jesus made in our behalf: “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:cool.

Through the cross, God laid the punishment for our sin on Jesus so that we might become the righteousness of God through faith in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

FAQ (2)

Q: Why am I having trouble receiving healing?

A: Often the challenge in receiving healing is knowing how to resist the enemy. Without a doubt, Jesus destroyed the works of the devil and delivered mankind from the devil’s authority.

However, it is man’s responsibility to resist the forces of evil. We must resist sickness with the same determination that we resist sin.

When we understand that, we will begin to see it is no more difficult to receive healing than it is to receive salvation. Like salvation, healing is available to all, but it comes only to those who receive it.

A demand must be placed on the power of God through your faith. When it is, God’s healing power will flow into your body. The key is developing your faith.

Build your faith by listening to the Word of faith preached concerning healing (Romans 10:17). Apply God’s Word by speaking it, thinking it and acting on it—act as if Jesus Himself spoke it to you.

See yourself doing what it says you can do. Regardless of what it looks like, what it feels like or what anyone says, as you act on the Word, your healing will appear.

There’s one other thing that a lot of people overlook. Galatians 5:6 says that faith works by love.

Love makes faith function properly just like gasoline makes your car function properly. If you do not walk in the love of God, you can impede your faith.

Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and see how the God kind of love thinks and behaves. Then make sure you align your actions and attitudes with the love of God.

As a believer, you have the ability to walk in the God kind of love. Your faith and love working together will hasten your healing!

FAQ (3)

Q: What is the way back to God when I have sinned?

A: The way back to fellowship with our heavenly Father is through the blood of Jesus. First John 1:9 says, “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

Your Father God loves you very much, and He has great things in store for your life.

The Bible says the plans God has for you are for good and not evil, and they lead to the hope of a bright future (Jeremiah 29:11)!

Not only does God want you to succeed, but He also offers His grace (supernatural empowerment) to enable you to live a holy life (1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Corinthians 12:9).

Sometimes the pressures of life might seem to overwhelm you. In those times, understand that you have the ability to turn your heart toward God and ask for His help.

Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for you—regardless of what you have done. Part of His ministry is being your advocate or lawyer before the Father (1 John 2:1).

He pleads your case, offering His blood as a cleansing agent for any and all your sins. As a child of God, you can confess your sins to Him who is faithful and just to forgive your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)!

You can do this simply by saying a prayer like the following from your heart:

Father, I sinned against You, and right now I choose to turn away from that sin and leave it behind me. I ask Your forgiveness for all my sin, and by faith I receive cleansing from it by the blood of Jesus. I receive Your empowerment to live a holy life right now. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

The Bible says God remembers your sins and iniquities no more (Hebrews 10:17).

Don’t be moved by your feelings if you don’t “feel” forgiven. Your feelings are not the determining factor—God’s Word is. And God does not lie. He keeps His Word, and His Word says you’re forgiven!

FAQ (1)

Q: How does God express His love for us?

A: The Old Testament writers had a word for the way God loves us—hesed. It is translated as “ever lovingkindness; tenderness; mercy.” Hesed is the force that rises inside someone, causing them to stand up for the benefit of another.

Another way of saying it is that it’s the picture of having a Blood Brother. From God’s perspective, it might best be described using John 3:16: “For God so ‘hesed’ the world, that he gave his only Son....”

After Adam committed high treason and bowed his knee to Satan, he lost his close relationship with God. When that happened, the first thing God did was to kill an animal in order to clothe Adam who had previously been clothed with God’s glory.

Later, however, God found for Himself a man, Abram, a man with whom He could cut covenant, a man who would teach his children that covenant (Genesis 18).

But why did God require the blood of animals? Because He did not have any blood of His own to shed.

When Abram sinned, God said, “I’ll take the blood of an animal, rather than him. I’ll treat him as though he didn’t sin. I’ll account it to him as right-standing—because he believed Me” (see Galatians 3).

There are two very important things to know about that covenant.

First, God cut that covenant with Abram and his Seed—Jesus (Galatians 3:16). God was making a blood covenant with a man, and He expected that covenant, those words, to produce a body with blood—Jesus—wherein He could swear.

God was sealing the deal with the blood of His own Son, who as a man paid the price for our breaking of that covenant (verse 13).

Second, redeemed from the curse of the Law, as heirs in Christ we have received the blessing of the promises God spoke to Abraham (verse 14).

We could not receive the blessing by keeping the law, but only by receiving the promise by grace.

In Christ, you and I are Abraham’s seed. We are heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:29). It is no longer by the blood of cows and sheep, but by the blood of Almighty God Himself.

Ours is a covenant between a resurrected immortal man, Jesus, and a holy and infallible God. Neither of them could ever break that covenant.

What’s more, neither can we. We may step out of fellowship when we sin, but all we have to do is confess our sin and step back into that fellowship (1 John 1:9).

When the devil comes against you, when sickness and disease come against you, when fear, worry, harm or poverty come against you—remember the covenant!

Remember the blood. Remember the promises. Remember the Word. You have a Blood Brother, just turn it over to Him.

Merry Christmas

Q: Is hypnosis a valid tool of medical treatment?

A: Hypnosis is a heathen practice that has been developed through the years as a form of medical treatment.

Only recently has it been adopted into western culture as an acceptable means of treating mental and physical illness. However it is not God’s way.

God wants to deal with man on a conscious level, not a subconscious level.

Anytime a person subjects his or her will to the power of another, it is an uncontrollable state of being and is contrary to man’s authority given to him by God.

In Webster’s dictionary, the word hypnosis is said to have come from the Greek word hypnos, the name of the Greek god of sleep.

This leads us back to Deuteronomy 18:10-12 where God instructs the Hebrew nation through the mouth of Moses: “Do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord....”

FAQ (1)

Q: Can the devil read my mind?

A: We can find no scripture that supports the idea that Satan can read our minds.

To the contrary, 1 Corinthians 2:11 states that no man knows the things of man except the spirit of man which is in him.

What Satan can do is tempt you with wrong thoughts. But even then, you have the upper hand. You can resist those thoughts by speaking God’s Word out of your mouth.

Romans 12:2 says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”

Don’t underestimate the damage wrong thoughts can do. To fail to resist those wrong thoughts is dangerous. Left unresponded to, wrong thoughts will eventually enter into our hearts and then come out of our mouths (Proverbs 4:20-23).

Jesus said it is not what goes into the mouth of a man that defiles the man; for out of the heart come evil thoughts such as murder, adultery, sexual vice, theft, false witnessing, slander, and irreverent speech. (See Matthew 15:11, 18-19.)

The bottom line is this: It’s not the devil, but you, who controls the environment you live in. You control it by the words that come from the abundance of your heart.

Matthew 12:37 says that by our words we are justified and by our words we are condemned.

Keeping God’s Word in your mouth and in your heart will keep you totally free from wrong thoughts and the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).

Q: How big of a part is giving in being a disciple of Jesus?

A: Jesus often told His followers to give: “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back” (Luke 6:38).

When we give, we are following Jesus just as much as when we suffer persecution or do any other thing in Jesus’ Name.

We must remember that money is but a symbol of our giving of ourselves (time, effort, etc.) and by giving to the gospel, we are continually giving ourselves to Christ. Giving is a part of our discipleship with Him!

FAQ (3)

Q: Is it wrong to make a vow?

A: To answer this question, it will help to understand why vows were instituted in the first place. Vows were instituted in Old Testament times in order to settle disputes because men were generally not honorable.

Their own words were not sufficient to the other party in critical situations. So, due to their general lack of integrity, the making of vows was implemented.

A vow is not something to be taken lightly. From the beginning, making a vow has been very serious business.

When a vow was made in God’s Name, His Name, reputation and integrity were put on the line. If what was promised in God’s Name was not fulfilled, then the one who made the vow was in sin.

God was made to look bad to those who knew of it and the situation would become a stumbling block to those who did not know God.

For that reason, a vow was entered into with extreme caution, so that God’s Name would not be defamed.

The best policy is to keep it simple and do what you say.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:34-37: “‘You have also heard that our ancestors were told, “You must not break your vows; you must carry out the vows you make to the Lord.” But I say, do not make any vows! …Just say a simple, “Yes, I will,” or “No, I won’t.” Anything beyond this is from the evil one.’”

Your simple yes or no should be so filled with honesty and integrity that the one you are coming into agreement with will be able to see that you are a person of your word.

You should not have to emphasize your words with other words, such as a promise, pledge or vow.

Re: FAQ: How Can God Be Good If There Is So Much Bad In The World? by PastorDavidAwuj(m): 4:43pm On Dec 27, 2018
FAQ (2)

Q: Can I lose my salvation?

A: Any believer can be tempted to feel he has lost his salvation. But the answer is simple if you look at God’s heart: God is not trying to keep anyone out of heaven.

He proved this by loving the world “so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

In order for you to lose your salvation, someone would have to take you out of some mighty powerful hands!

Jesus said in John 10:27-29, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.”

Once you are born again, if you sin, you can confess your sin, and God will forgive you (1 John 1:9).

God is offering His grace (supernatural empowerment) to enable us to live holy lives (1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Corinthians 12:9).

At times, the pressures of life may seem to overwhelm you. When that happens, don’t forget you have the ability to turn your heart toward God and ask for His help.

Hebrews 4:16 says, “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

Sin will not keep you out of heaven. Only rejection of Jesus can keep you from heaven. When you sin, you break your fellowship with God, but your relationship is not broken.

That is why it is so important for Christians to run to Jesus, and not away from Him, when they sin.

Romans 8:1 says, “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.” Remember, the blood of Jesus will never lose its power to cleanse you—and God is excited to see you grow in Him!

And there’s something else to consider: We are saved not by being sinless, but by Jesus’ life.

Never forget this: “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son” (Romans 5:8-10).

FAQ (3)

Q: Does God forgive sin we plan?

A: Sin is sin, whether premeditated or not. James 1:14-15 says, “Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.”

Now that’s actually good news when it comes to forgiveness, because it puts all sin in the same category.

You see, when a man walks in the light that he has received, the blood of Jesus will continually cleanse him.

However, if he does sin, he has an advocate with the Father, who is faithful and just to forgive him and cleanse him from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:6-9).

This does not give a man the license to sin. But if he does fall short of the mark, he should never run from God, but run to Him. God still loves him, and forgiveness is available to him (1 John 2:1-2).

FAQ (1)

Q: Why do some people die young?

A: Dying young isn’t God’s will. We know that. An untimely death is never God’s will. We are told repeatedly throughout the Bible that His plan, will and desire is for His children to live long, prosperous, healthy, blessed lives.

If you know someone who has died young, begin your pursuit of an answer to “why?” with confidence in God's absolute love and the truth of God’s Word.

Trust God to receive the truth in that situation and for the tactics and schemes of Satan to be exposed based on Mark 4:22, “For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light.”

Psalm 119:130 says, “The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.”

This means as we meditate on and speak aloud the promises of God, His Word will enlighten us (Proverbs 20:27) concerning life’s situations, and it will bring out into the open the hidden things.

Tragedies such as this are a direct attack of Satan whose total focus is to steal, kill and destroy any way he can (John 10:10).

If the enemy can succeed in getting us to wonder about and question the love of God, we play right into his plan to discourage, defeat and torment.

Don’t let this situation rob you of what you know about God’s love and His faithfulness to His Word. Don’t give Satan the slightest opportunity to use any situation to choke the Word of God which has been planted in your heart (Mark 4:19).

The devil would love for you to keep wondering and living in discouragement or defeat through the bondage of guilt and grief.

Don’t let him. Instead, allow God to keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed (or fixed) on Him (Isaiah 26:3).

As you wait upon the Lord through the Word and in prayer, He will renew your strength—spirit, soul and body (Isaiah 40:31).

And out of the rich treasury of His glory, you will be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power by the Holy Spirit (see Ephesians 3:16, The Amplified Bible).

Here are some scriptures that will help minister God’s promises of comfort to you, your relatives and your friends: Isaiah 61:1-3; Psalm 23:4; Psalm 71:21, 24 and 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

FAQ (3)

Q: How can I get free from inappropriate sexual thoughts and feelings?

A: If you struggle with having inappropriate sexual thoughts and feelings, know that your struggle is no different than struggling with any other perversion or deception that resulted from Adam’s fall.

We have great news! You have been made free by the blood of Jesus! John 8:36 says, “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.”

Your Father God loves you very much, and He has great things in store for you. The Bible says that the plans that God has for you are for good and not evil, and they lead to the hope of a bright future (Jeremiah 29:11).

The enemy tries to get us off the good path that God has for us, and he uses many temptations and pressures to do it (John 10:10), but Jesus understands the pressures that we are faced with.

Hebrews 4:15 says, “This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.” You can always be assured that you are not alone!

A great man of God, the apostle Paul, mentioned his frustrations in trying to control his fleshly desires.

Romans 7:22-23: “I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.”

This verse might seem discouraging, but Paul didn’t stop there. He found the answer to his dilemma: “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death” (Romans 8:1-2).

Victory is ours when we walk after the spirit and not after the flesh. Our deliverance comes when we allow God’s grace to empower us to change.

The enemy would like you to feel isolated and alone, but he is a liar.

When thoughts and feelings come that don’t line up with God’s best for you, speak the Word of God and allow God’s Word to help you overcome the temptations and lies of the enemy.

The Word says he will run from you (James 4:7)! By the power of the Holy Spirit you can be victorious in the midst of temptation.

We encourage you to cast the care of this burden on the Lord. As you spend time in God’s Word and in His presence in prayer and worship, you will find the temptations of the flesh growing weaker and weaker.

When you feed on and submit to His Word and Him rather than the things of the world, you will see your own desires change to reflect His desires!

FAQ (2)

Q: I’m going through a difficult time. Are there some scriptures I can stand on?

A: Now more than ever before, we must pay attention to God’s instructions. We must take hold of the Word of God and refuse to let go—especially in difficult times.

We must be like the writer of Psalm 119 who said: “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations.... The wicked have set their traps for me, but I will not turn from your commandments. Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.” (verses 105-106, 110-111).

It’s not enough for us to just lie back and say, “Well, if it’s God’s will for me to have victory I guess He’ll just give it to me. If it’s His will for me to be healed, He’ll just heal me.”

No! It is His will. He did give it to you. By His stripes you were healed. Now you must take God’s Word as your heritage.

You have to aggressively pursue it and get it in your heart and mouth. You have to fight off every unbelieving thought and every troublesome circumstance that comes to steal that Word and say, “I have taken God’s promise as my heritage. It’s my future. It’s my life. I refuse to be troubled by the temporary troubles of this world. They’ll pass away but God’s Word will never pass away. God upholds all things by the Word of His power and that Word will come to pass in my life!”

Here are some scriptures to stand on to do just that—to build your faith in difficult times.

1. Isaiah 41:10: "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."

2. Psalm 9:9-10: "The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you."

3. Psalm 145:9: "The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation."

4. John 16:33: “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

5. Philippians 4:6-7: "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

6. Philippians 4:13: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength."

FAQ (3)

Q: How can I keep the Word first place in my life?

A: Two decisions are absolutely vital in keeping the Word first place in all you do.

First, renew your mind with the Word of God. To do this, we encourage you to make the quality decision to spend time reading and meditating on God’s Word daily.

Supporting this commitment by attending a church that preaches the uncompromised Word, and studying after good Christian teachers are also great ways to grow closer to God and His Word.

Secondly, renewing your mind will not be effective if what you are learning is sabotaged by what comes out of your mouth.

As you continue to renew your mind with the Word of God, the next step is to make the words of your mouth line up with God’s Word.

Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Learn to say what God says about any given situation. Use Scripture as a basis for your prayer life.

Here are some examples of how you can speak God’s Word by faith: “God is on my side!” (Psalm 118:6; Hebrews 13:6). “Since God is for me, who can be against me?” (Romans 8:31). “No weapon formed against me will succeed.” (Isaiah 54:17). “My God will supply all my needs!” (Philippians 4:19). “The Holy Spirit is guiding me toward the truth.” (John 16:13). “Greater is He that is in me than he who is in the world!” (1 John 4:4).

As you put God’s Word first in your life, you will know how to handle the problems of life when they come.

According to His Word, it is God’s will that you live a victorious Christian life, overcoming every problem (John 16:33; Romans 8:37; 1 John 4:4)!

Q: How can I defend my belief in biblical prosperity?

A: This may surprise you, but you don’t have to defend your belief in biblical prosperity.

Jesus said, “But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands….” But He didn’t stop there. He went on to say, “…with persecutions.”

Sometimes taking a stand can open the door for criticism from other people. When this occurs, it is always appropriate to give a clear explanation of the biblical basis for your beliefs: “Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully” (1 Peter 3:15).

You can peacefully and respectfully give someone a reason for the hope that is in you without stirring up a debate that leads to strife.

Choose to walk in love on purpose (Matthew 22:36-40; 2 Corinthians 12:20; Philippians 2:3; James 3:16). God’s will for us is prosperity.

FAQ (2)

Q: What’s wrong with human cloning?

A: With reports of success in cloning the first human embryo, many people are asking this question. The issue of human cloning is answered only by understanding human dignity.

The embryo that would be created by human cloning is a human being endowed with the right to life, a free will, a purpose and a destiny.

Human dignity is at stake whether the purpose of cloning is to create a human organism solely to destroy it for medical research, or to create a new form of human reproduction.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that man is taking God’s place as creator. Man is impressed by the ability to manipulate genetic codes, but this is a far cry from breathing life into dust (Genesis 2:7).

Jeremiah 1:4-5 says, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

God has given us the ability to reproduce after our own kind (Genesis 1:28). He created us in His image as three-part beings. The three parts of a human are the spirit, soul and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 4:12).

The spirit is a person’s innermost being, the part that gives him life. The soul is his decision-making, thinking and feeling faculty. The body is the physical house in which he lives. A human needs all three parts to function properly on this earth.

God did not create human beings to be used as scientific experiments. We are created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him and to carry out His will on the earth.

God does not desire that any of His children be treated as an experiment. He doesn’t want us to forge the future of a child by predetermining his or her genetic makeup.

God created man with the ability to make choices. He did this because He desired to have a true, loving relationship with man. God could control us, but He refuses to take away our freedom (Deuteronomy 30:19).

Re: FAQ: How Can God Be Good If There Is So Much Bad In The World? by PastorDavidAwuj(m): 8:56pm On Dec 30, 2018
FAQ (3)

Q: Do I have to forgive?

A: Forgiveness is not an option. It is not a suggestion. It is a command given for our well-being.

In His sermon on mountain-moving faith, Jesus made a connection between faith and forgiveness.

He said, “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too” (Mark 11:24-25).

As far as God is concerned, unforgiveness is no small issue. It is wickedness.

We see this in Jesus’ story of a servant who was forgiven a huge debt by his master. After the servant received his own forgiveness, he decided to deal with a fellow servant who owed him a small debt. But instead of forgiving this servant like he’d been forgiven, he had the servant thrown into jail for failing to pay.

Upon hearing what he had done, his master became furious, called him a wicked servant and delivered him to the tormentors (jailers) until he paid all that was due (Matthew 18:23-35).

What a contrast this unforgiving servant was to Joseph. Sold into slavery by his jealous brothers, Joseph became the servant of a high-ranking officer in Egypt.

Then he was unjustly accused of a crime and thrown into prison. After miraculously being delivered from prison, Joseph was raised to the highest ruling position in the land next to the Pharaoh.

When he faced his brothers years later, instead of expressing bitterness, Joseph forgave them completely.

His brothers thought that Joseph would treat them harshly but Joseph said, “No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children.” (Genesis 50:21).

Whether we’ve been abused, deserted, falsely accused or mistreated, we must always choose to forgive.

We can’t wait for our feelings to change first, because forgiveness must be an act of the will, based on faith rather than feeling. We are to forgive others “just as God through Christ has forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32).

If ever there comes a time when old feelings of unforgiveness rise up within you, say by faith, “No, I’ve already forgiven that person. I refuse to focus on those old feelings.”

And keep on forgiving. By the power of the Holy Spirit you will find that forgiveness becomes the “normal” lifestyle of an overcoming Christian!

If you’ve ever allowed yourself to be bound by anger and bitterness, forgiveness may sound like an impossibility, but it’s not!

As a Christian, you have the love of God inside you. Yield to that love. Press into God and you will see His Anointing in, on and through you multiplied as never before!

FAQ (1)

Q: Should supernatural signs guide me?

A: Events seemingly beyond natural explanation happen in all of our lives. But they are never God’s primary way of making His will known. He speaks through His Word and by His Spirit. That should always be the main focus of our attention.

As we grow in understanding of God’s Word, the Bible assures us that we can follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, who is our teacher and guide (John 14:26). When we seek His guidance we can be sure He will lead us into all truth.

Rest assured, God is not trying to hide His will from you. God desires that we know His will in every situation. You can always be sure that if God is trying to get a message across to you He will do so in a way you can understand.

If something happens that you don’t understand, you can boldly ask God for His wisdom about it. If wisdom concerning the situation is not immediately apparent, then just “leave it on the shelf”—wait for a while and focus on the clear Word of God that is found in the Bible. We can never go wrong with God’s Word!

Q: Did Jesus need the Holy Spirit?

A: Nothing Jesus did in His earthly ministry was done by His own power. Everything was accomplished by the anointing of the Holy Spirit that was on Him. Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me” (Luke 4:18).

This is a very important concept for Christians to understand. The fact that Jesus did all His earthly ministry by the anointing of the Holy Spirit means although Jesus is God, He lived in this earth as a man filled with the Holy Spirit. The same Holy Spirit who was at work in Jesus to heal, save and deliver men is in every believer.

In fact, Jesus took this a step further. He did not say the Church would do only the same works He did.

He said, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father” (John 14:12). God’s will for the Church is that even greater works be done now by His Spirit.

Take off the limits and shake off any fears. Let God live BIG inside you! Receive the Holy Spirit and live every moment by His power. Your life will never be the same!

Q: Tithe vs. offering—what’s the difference?

A:Tithes and offerings are part of God’s system of finances. It’s a system that’s completely different from the world’s, because it’s there to help you prosper!

Tithe simply means a “tenth.” To tithe is to give 10 percent of your gross income to the Lord. It may seem illogical that giving 10 percent of your income leads to prosperity, but Malachi 3:10-12 explains:

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field...And all nations shall call you blessed: for you shall be a delightsome land.

God considers the tithe crucial to your financial success.

Offerings differ from tithes in that they are free-will gifts to any person or organization. It is a gift beyond your tithe—not instead of your tithe.

An offering can be in the form of money, clothes, food or almost anything that God prompts you to give.

In God’s system, this is how you increase. For example, if you want new clothes, pray about it and then consider giving a portion of your clothes as seed. (Remember to sow good seed.)

Then be patient and expect your harvest. If you want to get out of debt, find a way to help someone else. As Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you.”
