Please, can Nigeria government sit up and do the needful. Our government should put the right people in governance. Policy makers is all we need across boards.We don't need political office holders who are after themselves and their unborn generation. Nigeria University commission should leave pride alone, just humble themselves and ask Covenant university how they've gotten this far in just 16years of existence. What is the system of doing things right and repeatedly doing it right.

What I think covenant university should do is to liase with jamb and offer the best candidates full scholarships regardless of if they applied to the school or not.
The Students must have visible records of consistent academic excellence in secondary school education

That way they get the best of both worlds. The rich and the highly intelligent but not so rich.

That is what schools in America do to maintain an intellectual and financial edge.

Bros na joke now, but everybody cannot be an academician. Although the trend now is to structure universities to be a research institution, however that is not the reality on ground for many of them.
Majority of engineering students in the US passed through the 2 + 2 system. First, they obtained an associates degree in engineering from a junior college before they go on to a 4 year college to get their bachelors.
During the 2 years of associate degree, they are compulsory hours of internship which they must complete. Meeting these hours certify them to be Auto technicians if mechanical engineering was their option.
They get practical hands on experience and are able to change tire and do other repairs.
Some find this career level satisfactory while others might decide to move on to 4 year collage.

It would be wrong to assume that engineers in US do not know how to change tires.

In my place,govt have already turned federal institutions to muslim property. Only muslim vc 4 d past over 20 years. They give their children best courses like medcine,law,engineering etc and give other religion students courses like biology edu,agric edu,phe.

wallahi you are correct ,they were initially doing well in that sector ,but the competition no be here again o,virtually all the schools in I did and China have gone out of this world in that computer area.If you claim you are good with the system, then try meeting up an idian student or Chinese, he is 1000% likely to make a mess of you over the system.The highest level of fraud we now experience on system is been organised and perpetuated by the Indians and chinese, then the Malay's!! Once you get to see your self chattimg with an I dian or chinese or Malaysian, pls just"LOG OUT ENTIRELY "else your acct is about to be hacked and even your distant father and mothers own sef!!

That is because there is no real competition.
She is the best among some very rich mediocres.

Inject some very sharp brains into her class, and she will not even finish top 20.

Those sharp brains are most of the time very poor and are languishing in federal.
