I recently bought a console and so far everything is working fine from the console to the dual shock controllers but whenever I press the Playstation button during a game it refuses to bring out the xmb menu or quit options.but the button works perfectly in connecting to the console.Experts in the house, Please help

if i understand what u saying correctly, then hold it down a few seconds, thats when u can see the turn off console, turn off controller, exit etc options.

yeah that's what I mean but no matter how long I hold it down it doesn't bring out those options
