Please I need your advice in getting the custody of my daughter...



My Story in summary
I was dating a girl for a causal relationship(no marriage commitment), we parted ways amicably when the relationship was not getting way forward..after exactly 7month,the lady and her mum shows up at my house with 7month pregnancy, I denied been responsible but after consulting with my pastor ,I claimed owning the pregnancy and told her family I will take the baby for DNA test after birth...ever since then till child birth I have been providing financial support for her,even naming ceremony.
I confirmed afterward that the baby is mine.. Now the kid will be 3years next year February but her family has been denying me access to the kid lately (I love the kid so much cos av got connected to her)..I will love if the kid could grew up within my custody or preferable having access to the kid and contributing financially for her education.
please advice me about the legal steps to take and also can a man seek for custody of his child?

1. Do you have records of your financial contributions?

2. Before now have you been physically present in the child's life?

If Yes, you can start from social welfare, make a report in the social welfare secretariat of your local government secretariat.
Note that you won't get full custody of a child under 7 except the mother is incompetent.
You are however entitled to visitations and even part custody.
If social welfare mediation doesn't work you can approach family court.

You made a serious mistake, you should have sent through her account because now she will deny that you have not supported the child from birth and it will seriously count against you.

If you have pictures of you and the child it can help.
Every man who has a baby out of wedlock should be smart enough to document contributions, these things can get messy.

They can deny and now give a heavy bill for pregnancy, birth and post birth to discourage you

If you are truly contributing financially for the girl, how will the mother deny u access to ur kid, when every time you go see her u dish something into her pocket!!

Legally you can have her in your custody when she is 6 years of age. Stand to be corrected. Lawyers in the house, over to you.
