What makes the mid-range smartphones be more desirable than the latest flagship devices these days?

I can say we all love the flagship phones, from the premium finishes and good looks to the high-end specs.

Apart from the extreme pricing that’s limits the number of people that can actually afford the phones, it seems that even people who can afford the flagship devices end up buying the mid-range devices especially in this recent years.

So what makes the mid-range devices so special that one would choose it over a premium flagship device for daily use?

I have a rough idea on why that would be the case..

Convenience.
As we’ve seen in the recent releases of mid-range phones, the one thing that they excel in better than the flagship phones is the battery life. For example the Infinix note 5 will give you up-to 3 days battery life compared to any flagship phone which can barely handle a full day of regular usage. Now I know I don't want to have to carry a power bank around with me whenever I'm out travelling or I when I know I wont be near any power source for a while, so the first thing I would want to have is a phone with good battery life.

Cheap
The price of the device is pretty much the most obvious factor, but I’m not only talking about the cost of buying the phone, but also the cost of repairing it. If you dropped the Pixel 2 for example and broke the screen, we all know how much it would cost to replace the screen. For most of the mid-range devices however, it's different case, first of all it might not even brake since most mid-range devices go for the plastic finish rather than glass which is more fragile, but they still manage to make it look and feel premium even with the plastic finish it would hard to notice the difference in my opinion.

Apart from that the overall performance of a mid-range smartphone would very much suffice for your daily usage, the camera has improved, and many mid-range phones have dual cameras too, packing at least 3gb or 4gb ram which isn’t so bad unless you’re a heavy user or plan to have the device for gaming but it isn’t that bad either.

The phones barely have any lag except for when playing heavy games but they still fare well, although the flagships would still be a better option for gaming or photography.

What do you think, would you go for a flagship or a mid-range smartphone? I Know I would choose both.

Stiff competition often drives innovation, prices lower, ultimately the customer benefits.

Planning to buy a car this season? You need customized Premium Vehicle History Reports to ensure you don't end up with cars with dangerous and hidden damage history.

Signature.

Maybe this relates to Tecno infinix and itel but not in Samsung.

There is a clear difference in samsung midrange and flagships.

I think they operate on different markets. I'm sure an iPhone or Samsung user would not agree with you in any way.

Are they complaining about the phone brands? NO!

You wey dey use iphone, if you wan transfer file wahala, to connect to pc wahala.

Most people who use iphone in Nigeria aren't using iphone because of the specs, most of em are using iphone because of the price tag.

They only want to flaunt and show off to everyone that they are using a 500 grand phone.

Funny enough some of them are still struggling to pay 350/400k house rent.

preach! Show off is one of the major problem that's not making Nigerian youths progress, making some depressed and some very desperate. I remember the days of bold 5, one mumu girl dissed me coz I was with a curve 2. Titi isn't using whatsapp because she's still with bold 5.

Titi got a good android, got stolen, so she had to return to her vomit.

Wa shey re, you just made me remember the days of Blackberry & BBM pin.

Many guys did stupid things over BB, while some girls objectified themselves because of BB.

BB made many Nigerians go crazy back then, everybody wan show say en ge class, everybody always wants to prove their worth even when they are empty.

This is really bad.

Huncle, stop lying
Nobody still uses BlackBerry 7 series
The worst you will see is BlackBerry 10, which Whatsapp runs on
Besides, BlackBerry phones are now fully Android-enabled

U 4got to mention that most of the so called new innovations on the flagships are just gimmicks, features you don't need for everyday usage.

Go for good mid rangers like the Xiaomis, d tecnos and infinix, they meet ur everyday usage.

I will advice Xiaomi coz its value for money. Like if u try it, u will c Infinix & Tecno and run for ur life.
