Power Holding Operatives And Cable Re-connection Fee Malpractice by Nichobest1(m): 11:52pm On Dec 08, 2018
It started sometime in the Month of August 2018. A compound on Kayode Adebiyi street in Bariga, under Shomolu LGA of lagos state was disconnected by power holding operatives because they failed to pay their NEPA bill. Few days later they paid the bill including the Re-connection fee, but the PHCN operative never came to Re-connect the cable. So they have contract someone else to do the job.
The following month which was september 2018, the same incidence repeated itself, but this time around they refused to pay the Re-connection fee, they instead contracted another person to Re-connect it. PHCN operatives came few days later to cut the cable saying that they have no right to Re-connect it since they did not pay for Re-connection fee. This event resulted to a serious misunderstanding between the occupant of the building and the PHCN operatives. Unknown to them, the PHCN guys had a hidden camera that they used to capture all the tenants that were involved.
One faithful monday morning, PHCN operative came with mobile police men I arrested everyone that was captured on camera on that day. They did not stopped there, they went ahead and disconnected the Transformer, leaving the whole street in total blackout for 4 months now.
They street has since organised a committee to see to it that PHCN come and Re-connect the transformer, but since then nothing meanigful has been done since the PHCN is determined to punish the whole for the mistake of a compound.
News reaching us now is that we will still be in darkness till March 22nd 2019.
We calling on the government or anyone who is on the head of affair of phcn to do something, we can not longer sit down and keep quite. We need answers before Christmas.
Thanks.
