A video currently making rounds on social media shows a Jumia dispatch rider punching a customer for rejecting an item that was delivered to him.

A Twitter user, Quadri Olalekan who shared the viral video on the platform, wrote;

@JumiaNigeria Dispatch rider punched a customer who rejected a product on delivery cos it was diff frm his request, @JumiaNigeria claiming its a 3rd party company, on an order made on their website, below is the video of the rider and the customer

Jumia has now responded to the allegation, the company wrote on their Twitter page saying the customer is now being attended to in order to resolve the issue. Jumia wrote;

Hi Quadri.
Thanks for the concern. The customer is currently being attended to in order to resolve the issue.

They've really improved recently. I just wish their 3rd party sellers will fall in line and be frank about what they sell on the platform.
Customers get a lot of junk that looked good and beautifully described.

These days, I don't buy online items I haven't seen before.

Their riders should be trained too. Recently had an issue about one of their riders which I called their contact center to make a report.

Jumia is someone's investment, the distribution chain should be intact, if not the business might just collapse at the weakest link of the chain.

** Customer torn d inner package and still want to return d item

** Customer wants to return a used item....for aretrival dat customer had complained of ....

let's hear from the dude of the jumia dispatcher, online business and dispatching has been one of a great task in e-commerce,I can relate to a situation where a clients has finalize all deals and midway to delivery he calls to abort delivery and it's worst if the item being delivered is gotten from a third party store. some customers can be frustrating to tell you the truth

You dont have to fight the dispatch rider just because you got the wrong item. Jumia has a 7 days return policy that you can utulize if not satisfied. And i can assure you that the policy is effective.
