We should stop killing this rare creatures.

We can get token as revenue when we make them aquarium and people visit.

Better By far, Aquaculturist in the making.

Aqua gini? Aquarium in naija! Na PHCN go kill am for you. It's better to quickly enjoy the meat jejely instead of torturing it to death in aquarium. grin

This is a shovelnose guitarfish.
Look like a mix of stingray & shark but not poisonous.

But why are they preparing their 'food' surrounded by debris?

According to local Fisher men they went out fishing this morning casting their net in the lagoon then they felt a rush in the net, then they pulled it out hoping to see a fish but saw a weirdly looking creature.

After various Stabbing, it took the fish 20mins to die, some people say it was a sting ray but a sting ray won't be able to survive in a lagoon, the fish was measured the length of 5.5 feet and a wing span of 3 feet

Lagos isale eko

It is called apatamaja in Yoruba... What's so special about it... Bought some last week at better life market in makoko ... But not this big o... And they smoked it for me...delicious..
If you reside in Lagos... Go to oyingbo Market, ilaje in bariga(ebute), oworoshoki, obun eko(Lagos Island), badagry market on market Street, ajah, epe, apapa (around Liverpool)..... Tell them to clean the back properly.. If not you won't be able to eat it... It is not that expensive.. Enjoy

This link has a good list of East Atlantic Sting Rays and extensive information about them.

https://cites.unia.es/cites/file.php/1/files/id_east_trop_atlantic_eng.pdf

The Photo shows what they look like and at least two of them match the “Guitarfish” originally posted. The Original post photo of the fish caught is matching more the head shape of the “Wedgefish” and not the “Guitarfish”.

It seems to be a “Guitarfish”, after closer look at more of the body details.

It is a sting ray and there is a good picture of one matching it in the stingray and shark information here.

I dey wait make e reach 250 for one gig.

It all depends on how much we buy it from mtn and co.

If we get it a price that can warrant sellin a GB at 250 and still make profit, of course we will sell.

That is Olufemi Bamiro’s mother. She always says she’s an Eko woman and owns the Lagoon. Just see how her life has ended!!!

Afonja’s and evil are 5 and 6 .

Sorry, you sound like a tribalistic bigot. And, if you were referring to the UI man, you are rude as well!

This is a good example of why I believe that being literate is not necessarily equal to being educated. I know you'd claim to be educated.

True education connotes enlightenment, courteous behavior and objectivity - being able to assess issues for what they are. You seem to lack those qualities, judging by your posts.

You can do better, man. Eschew the bitterness.
