HOW TO PUBLISH YOUR BOOK IN NIGERIA



if you’re a writer and you’ve been looking for ways or where to publish your book.

publishing of book goes beyond writing alone. you have to know the step and pros and cons before doing so.



if you want to publish your book, you need to know if your book will meet the standard of the target audience, what is the reason for you writing this book, what impact will it have on the reader. nce your answer is positive you can go ahead and start publishing your book.



BOOK PUBLISHING PROCESS




1: CREATE A CLEAR CONCEPT FOR YOUR BOOK: before you start writing any of your book, invest more time defining what your book is all about, the concept,figure out whether your book will be interesting to the reader. Ask yourself: what impact will my book have on the reader,? is it going to be unique? who are my target audience? what age and gender. it will be helpful to know the answer to all question asked above.


2: DEVELOP YOUR CONTENT: ensure that your book that is about to be published is detailed and has enough information for those (target audience) who are going to use it. while you can just sit down or be playing around and inspiration to write come to your head, it is better to have a clear structure than to avoid mistakes. do some research on your chosen topic and also read books written by the authors of the topic you have in mind to see the way they approach the topic.




3: PREPARE YOUR MANUSCRIPT : Once you are done writing. ensure your book is free of grammatical error. This means that your final manuscript has to be proof-read before you can head for publishing. Let your reading audience or reader feel your professionalism, especially in your language structure and usage. This is very important and necessary. once all is set you need to show turn your work into a manuscript that you will show the publisher if you want to self publish ensure that your manuscript follows the correct and standard format.



4: CHOOSE ILLUSTRATION AND COVER: even though you should not judge a book by it cover most people do. if you want your book to be swept off the shelve you need an eye catching cover that explain what your book is about. writing a children book illustration is important. you will have difficulty getting children read your book if it lacks catchy illustrations and drawings



5: PUBLISH AND PROMOTE YOUR BOOK: I f you are publishing the book by yourself all you need is to find a printer, you can fine-tunes all the details with them including the cover,the paper quality, make sure you first print less copy and share with people around you to read and check for error before printing large batch. if you want someone else to print for you make sure you send your manuscript to many publishing company. if your book is picked the publisher will take care of everything. from printing to promotion


MARKETING AND PROFITABILITY 1. publish your book on amazon, okadabook and also create social media ads for your book launch 2. join nigeria author association 3. get a functional website 4. word of the mouth
