His Royal Highness Late Mohammed Egbunu Obaje, aged 36 years. A graduate of History and International Studies from Kogi state university was killed by food poisoning. He died last month on 22nd of November, 2018, in FMC Abuja. The Second class young Royal father who changed the face of traditional rulership owning to his youthful, vibrant and resourceful nature was loved by both old and youth of his domain and beyond. He assumed the hereditary thrown in September 2011 as the 11th Amana of Itobe during the reign of His Roya Majesty, Dr. Aliyu Obaje, the then Attah Igala.

The young Ruler's delima started immediately the current Attah Igala Idakwo Ameh Oboni assumed power as Attah of Igala in 2013. Attah Whose leadership style is marred with dictatorial and tyrannical tendencies, continued to intimidate and threatened to dethrone the little Royal father despite the due respect and royalties accorded him by the Amana. He always tagged Amana as stubborn due to his student union activism in those day. To kill a dog, a name tag must be tied to it.

The depth of his hatred for Amana was not known until he appointed a known evil woman, and an illiterate, one Hajia Ramitu Ibrahim in Novemver 2017 to serve as a sole administrator in itobe. An office that is unknown by any chieftancy law and regulation. This was just created distract and derail the good work Chief Mohammed Obaje was rendering his subjects. The battle between chief Amana of Itobe and the Ramotu Ibrahim rages on in several courts and police stations. Despite the several court defeat, Attah Igala, Idakwo Ameh vehemently continued to support the wrong doing of the Ramotu.

The young ruler died when one of his own nephews was contracted by a yet to be identified person, poison his meal in his own palace. He died few day after despite treatment at The Federal Medical Centre , Abuja last November 22, 2018.

While the family are still in mourning, on Monday, the 23rd of December a month after the death, the Attah Igala Idakwo Ameh without consultation without remorse , sympathy or condolence announced that Ramotu will be un charge of Itobe community. An announcement that lead to the chaos in Attah palace yesterday.. A move that all Itobe community and the environs resisted with all their strength. This lead to the protest and crisis in Attah's palace at Idah which eventually spread to Itobe. Many perskns were severely injured.

Considering the pedigree of the current Attah's father, HRM The Great Ameh Oboni, who was loved by all Igala during his reign as Attah Igala in 1940s, one would say His son Idakow Amen has fall short of expectation by all standard. Today, similar evidence of double leadership in one province in our traditional rulership is a common thing in igalaland, chaos and disorderliness, impunity, discord among royal fathers is rampart courtesy Attah Igala. Our royal fathers are frequently in court and police stations bailing and fighting themselves since the inception of HRM Idakwo Ameh as Attah Igala, Kogi state.

Finally, We call on Kogi state government under the Leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello ( who awarded staff of office to Amana before his demise) to call Attah Igala HRM idakwo Ameh to order by returning the Amana Itobe stool to the family of late Amana as dictated by the norm and tradition to avoid break down of law and order.

A typical igala king would have seen a food containing poison from afar with some invincible smoke coming out of the food, or the base/bottom of the plate would fall off to show it contains poison.
