They occupy the left-backs and right-backs position. They support attacks and destroy attacks, they work all day long. A good wingback must be a good runner to enable him/her recover lost grounds after moving foward, he/she must be an intelligent footballer to enable him/her know when to go foward and when to stay back, they also need a lot of stamina since they will be running for 90 minutes. Am hoping someone will give me another credible candidate and with good reason, but I think the best wingback in world football is arguably Gianluca Zambrotta.
