water pollution is the deterioration of the state of water from a good condition to a bad condition which is inhabitable to man and other living things. Here, we look into the state of and ways in which environmental state of water system and management has been infected by human activities and living organisms. It is considered that the treated effluent from sewage treatment plant is not as pure as river water. This is because it contains various partially un-dissolved oxidized substances. These substances could be organic or inorganic. Therefore, for the safe keeping of our hydrosphere, industrial technology need to take responsibility for adequate supply of treated water. This should be done in conjunction with the government policies. If adequate care is not taking, there is a tendency that the future generation will suffer a lot of water borne diseases.

levels of water pollution
Water can be polluted in three different ways despite the various causes of water pollution.

Natural causes: this is the change in water quality due to natural occurrences; such as air borne substances, suspension when carried from the soil to water ways.
Non natural ways: these include all temporally induced pollution such as impure release of energy.
Qualitative and quantitative pollutants: here, there is an inhibition of auto purification capacity of water. {there is a permanent induced pollution}

Drinking purposes: drinking water should be of the following
Be bacterial free
Colorless and odorless
Free from poisonous substances such as nitrites
Contain moderate dissolved salts.
Industrial purposes: it must be that
They do not contain dissolved salts which are corrosive
Do not contain dissolved corrosive gases
Do not exhibit turbulence

Artificial causes such as industrial discharge, arable farming, human discharge metabolism and many more.
