Whether you like it or not, electricity is one of the criteria that enhance development in a country. The LIGHT-OUT in some parts or almost all parts of Nigeria is a deliberate act. Could you believe that some MERCHANT MEN (entrepreneurs especially petrol (fuel) station owners, ritualists and politicians) pay electricity company workers/staffs to OFF LIGHT in some areas for SOME NUMBER OF DAYS, for reasons like “PEOPLE SHOULD BUY PETROL (their PETROL BUSINESS SHOULD SELL to the masses)” and some for “UNCLEAR REASONS (maybe for RITUAL ACTIVITIES)”.

These companies will then come to the public to claim a damage on their equipment whereas nothing has happened to anything. If something really bad has happened to their equipment, then how many times in a month or in a week should their equipment get spoilt? Secondly, if their equipment was really bad as they claimed, why did they continue to use the same equipment and expect a different result? (isn’t there an UPGRADE in their dictionary?).

The most annoying part is that this power supply is not for free, people are paying! Even the government don’t give a damn about electricity supply in the country. Can they say that other African countries having 24 hour electricity supply are living in heaven and not using man made equipment? Come on, Nigerians deserve better electricity supply guys! Please let us help ourselves as these wicked activities will never help us go anywhere.

They have forgotten that what goes around comes around. This country can never ever meet up world (advanced) standard without electricity. The government is talking about fighting corruption whereas, they may be behind the deliberate act (light-out) in the electrical sector of the country.

Lack of electricity in the country is slowing down development of youths in all aspects of life. It is not all youths in the country that can afford a petrol. Most of them don’t even have AC Generator, so they’ll have to wait for days (LIGHT-OUT PERIODS) before they can continue from where they stopped in whatever they were doing when light comes. Please Nigerians, I think it is time to protest against these companies or against the government to stop this deliberate wicked acts. Thanks!
