Hello guys.

I am planning on travelling to Canada this summer but airlines' prices are not smiling at all, so I'm considering Royal Air Maroc. Does anyone have any experience flying with the Moroccoan airline? Will I be needing a transit visa (for a brief layover at Casablanca airport) as a Canada PR enroute Canada?

Kindly help a brother Quite urgent

You guys are doing a stupendous job here.
Bravo to everyone that contributes generously. I happen to know Ednut1 in real life but I'm sure he doesn't know grin

My Sister who is in Nigeria, contacted me yesterday that she got an Agent's contact. The Agent would help her get a Slot for a 2-year work visa(A particular company in Canada) directly from Nigeria.

I told her that I understand that the Canadian Government issues licenses to some companies and that makes it possible for such companies

its 99.98% of the time a scam. How can one agent claims he can do 3 countries. Can he provide evidence of people he has done it for like his own siblings and relatives The people doing this stuff from other countries charge as much as 30k to 40k according to reports. You better tell your sister to flee

You promised her a thorough digging and that amounts to people researching for you. Agents will always cash out though!

My Sister who is in Nigeria, contacted me yesterday that she got an Agent's contact. The Agent would help her get a Slot for a 2-year work visa(A particular company in Canada) directly from Nigeria.

I told her that I understand that the Canadian Government issues licenses to some companies and that makes it possible for such companies to sponsor foreigners to work in Canny.

I explained to her that I don't feel good about such arrangements because:

1. What is the meaning of slots? Slots sounds like a shady arrnagemnet just like we hear people say they've got slots in Nigeria.

2. You are not a specialist ( Health Sector, Tech Guru etc) and your occupation is not on the the list of shortage occupation. What then is special about you that will make a company sponsor you for such work visa?

3. I feel the Canadian companies that allow such arrangements might be struggling companies that charge a fee for such service.

4. I feel the working conditions in such companies might not be good and such employers might maltreat you because they brought you in some sort of way.

These are just my thoughts. I assured my sister that I will do an extensive research and get back to her in 3 days.

Kindly tell me everything and anything you know about such schemes. Thank you

Thank you for the response Ednut1. I actually told her to flee already but I don't want it to seem like I didn't corroborate my assertion with genuine facts, that's why I came to Nairaland.

The Agent is offering UK, Canada and US. I've forgotten the amount for UK.

Canada is N3.5m for a family of 3 ( Husband, Wife and one child). The Agent said it will take about 10 months.
Single Applicant is N2.5m

For US, the package is N5m and would be ready in 3 weeks.

I just decided to ask on each thread because immigration rules differ from one country to the other.

In addition, I did not really get a satisfactory response on that UK thread. Only one person responded and he only responded with a link to a news story that revealed that some agencies are bringing people into the UK and charging them fees.

I decided to ask here, in case guys here will give more insightful information.

I want to discourage someone from doing something, don't you think I should give the person more than convincing reasons?

After reading your first post on this matter I wanted to give a different response but looking at this second post, I can confidently say that the whole process is a scam.

If your sister is really interested in coming into Canada via work permit, tell her to research into LMIA, create a Canadian format resume and visit jobbank.gc.ca and search for LMIA jobs. She will have direct access to jobs posted by Employers and this process will cost her nothing. Although it may take some time and lots of efforts in applying for various roles.

I understood your point initially, I just wanted you to be foolish enough to reiterate and you did! What a slowpoke you are!

In a bid to sound woke, you eventually ended up sounding ludicrous.

Did I request anyone to research for me?

Btw, you don't even seem to know the meaning of research. If you do know, you wouldn't have written that rubbish you wrote up there.

In case you are not properly educated or you only chose to be a Nitwit, Coming to Nairaland to seek opinion is a method of research.

You don't have an idea how many people I have contacted personally even before bringing it to Nairaland.

In addition, the best means of research for this kind of enquiry is the means I chose. People that have had such encounters or know people who have benefited positively or negatively from such schemes would give an account.

"Please run o! My Cousin was scammed by an Agent who promised exactly same. She was swindled of her hard-earned N2M"

"I know some who paid for such, was truly given Visa but life was hell for him when he got to Canada. He had to return to Nigeria before expiration of the so-called 2-year work visa"

You think real people like Ednut1 and the reasonable people I copied in my original post would say something like the examples I gave up there and I won't be glad my research is about 80% complete?

These good people don't need to do any research for me, they only need to share their experience or experience of someone they know.

Good riddance!

If I get banned in the Travel section for this post, I will be willing to honourably do the time. At least, I am fulfilled I got the opportunity to put you and other Idiots like you where they belong!

Yes bro, I got his message from the outset but I like giving people benefit of doubt as well as second chance. I gave him a second chance by using courteous words like "kindly" and "thank you". At least, a wise person would have considered that and try to address me in a kind way.

The internet is too toxic already. Not everyone has a strong personality and very durable shock absorber. I know people that would cry and feel less of themselves after reading what the guy typed ( what he typed was not too harsh but trust me, it's enough to ruin some people's day).

We should learn to be kind. If we are catching cruise, that's a different thing. Even when catching cruise we should know limits and respect boundaries.

However, I don't see anything bad when two people with "strong personality" give themselves gbas gbos grin grin grin

Good evening everyone.

Please, I’m a student with study permit, but my fiancé is already a citizen. We intend travelling home 2 get married end of the year.

Currently, I have 5 job offers 2 work “full time”. I would love to accept one of the offers.

Can I accept the offer and work with my “study permit” knowing that I can still get “Spouse work permit” or decline because of the effect of >20 weekly hours restriction by IRCC?

What could b the implication of accepting the job now with my study permit?

Please, I’ll appreciate if the house can render some advice.

Hello Dele,

One school I think you can learn from is https://www.masterschool.com/. If you pass the aptitude test, you would be scheduled for 10mins interview if successful, and there is no waiting list, you would gain admission into the program.

Pros:
-if admitted, no need to pay tuition till you get a job

-individual with zero experience can do it.

-help you with resume

-they would get you a job after the program

- hands-on experience (practical and real industry projects)

-industry professionals led classes.

Cons:

-don't start it if you know you won't finish it

-if you stop after you started, you would still pay the tuition upto where you stopped, based on their calculations.

-tuition isn't cheap (for example: their cybersecurity is $C15,000 , however you start paying 10% of your salary each month, once you get a job till you pay the 15k in full, no interest)

Please check their site for more information

I recommended the above because of hands-on experience you would gain from it (which you can use to make to confidently speak to whatever questions asked on any interview)

Other cheaper options you might consider:

-udemy
-NIPCA https://blacktechhub.org/) - Nigerian owned
-cybrary (for cynersecurity)

1) Your study permit allows you to work 20 hours per week—- so you cannot work full time. (You already answers this)

2) Getting married does not automatically grant you spousal work permit since you will need to apply for it- wait time: unknown.
Remember you can only hold one or the other. A spousal work permit or study permit.

3) Solution: stick to your study permit and its terms and conditions (Do not get tempted by the full time job and ruin your immigration chances);
Get married and your spouse can apply to sponsor you for PR.

If you apply for PR sponsorship inland (within Canada), you can submit a work permit application with it. Go to cic website to learn more about this.

Hello everyone,
Can I use an international driving license I got in Nigeria to drive automatically in Canada, or do I still need to write the knowledge test and take the road test?
Because securing a spot for a road test in my province takes about 5 months.
Thank you.
