Hello Guys,

Decided to share this so as to encourage others.

Had my Visa interview on December 17th, 2018. Questions asked were the same as posted earlier by others.

5 weeks later, I received the mail requesting that I provide insurance details and confirmed travel date.
My employer had already informed me in week 3 that approval had been granted by the foreign office .

Visa was delivered earlier this week, week 7.

Special thanks to Sam, who took time to help out in the early days. I went with so many copies that Mr. Paulinus was confused, I was confused too at some point cheesy

My profile, I am currently an SAP ABAP developer with over 5 years experience. Preceding that, i have 5 years experience in other fields like Java and Oracle ERP.

Leaving in some weeks. Wish me luck guys. smiley

You don't need a masters to get you 100K - 200K euros per year job. You can always learn online and do some certifications.

BornToSucced:

Boss, I really appreciate your honest response. Here is my story. I am working as an Administrative Assistant with six figures salary, but my passion is in tech - digital Marketing.

Although I have a degree in Marketing, I have done several training and certification courses in digital Marketing, but no real work experience. Most annoyingly, my job has taken away all my time coupled with Lagos traffic.

I want to further my education in Germany or Canada by pursuing a masters degree in digital media & tech/marketing at Ludwig Maxmillan Uni or Tech Mgt at TUM.

Do you you think this course can land me a job after graduation in Germany?

Many thanks.

I have done that and still doing it trust me. I am currently preparing for DMI exam. Like I said, I want a practical experience of handling a client digital projects.

Another reason is to ensure I relocate via study visa.

Please would you recommend Germany or Canada?

This is a place for people that have made up their mind to want to come to Germany to either work or re-union.

Go to the first page read what has been posted. Search for jobs on the site that was posted and when you apply and get a job then we can advice further.

OMW to work later wink

While the same A1 here na about 67k, though u need to be in Lagos for Goethe

You can school wherever you are (if they have a good German language institute) then register as an external candidate to write the exam in Goethe. I'm doing A2 in a pretty good school in Benin City and will write Goethe's exam.

I always say thank you because you guys are really helping me and I owe you people a lot .. my fiancé said that since am coming to Germany to marry her that it's called fiancé visa and a special visa.. she has summitted my documents to the registry last month and it's still on process ! My question is that what kind of questions will the man or woman can ask me for the verification ! Secondly since my mom is not with me here in Lagos will he/her travel to my hometown to see my family because as it stands now, I am still going to Goethe institute for my A2 certificate and by his grace I passed my A1 examination.. and please after the verification, how long will it take before I can apply for a visa at the embassy!! Please only Good vibes and no negativity!! Thank you

Got my Blue Card. Took two weeks after applying. Tho there is bureaucracy here in Germany.

I would find some time to put up a wiki so people can be guided.

cc @Sam8850

I think people need to know what to expect in Germany before they decide to come. It's very good to be here but beware that it's not a capitalist society like the USA. It's a socialist country. They tax you heavily but things work here. Lowest crime rate.

It's not that easy here but it's better than Nigeria if you know what you are doing here.

Hi,
Could you tell us if your VISA has been approved or probably the current state of your application.
Triumphantglory:
I am applying for family reunion visa. Had my interview in October and I guess verification is complete even though I didn't get an email on that. My spouse has a blue card and has been invited to the foreign office for an interview next week. God's willing we'll get a favourable response this month.

I dont know why you chose to revert my name and now forming big.... Anyways, now I know and I wish you the very best....

cityella:

I think you should write to the embassy. Sometimes, the delay is mostly from the home office where your husband resides. Your hubby might have gotten a letter from the home office stating that they have gotten back to the consulate general in Lagos, but they are quite smart to also let you know that the decision of visa approval or rejection is not theirs to take so as to shift the blame.
in my opinion, if you decide to write to them which I think is the best thing to do, remember to state your file number, when you had the interview also stating that your hubby has done the needful by submitting all required documents.

Is there a way to find out the status of family reunion visa. My wife and kids went for interview Sept 2018, document verification was done dec 2018/jan 2019. The lawyer verification has been done since jan 2019 but we are yet to get feedback from the embassy.

I have a blue card and have been in germany since august 2018.

We have sent numerous mails to the embassy but there has been no response.

Did the embassy send you an email about verification completed ?

Hallo,
If the embassy haven't sent you verification complete email, it means they ain't done verifying your wife..
I'll advise you to be more patient. they'll write to you soon.
I know the waiting period is terrible but be please patient.

I wrote to the embassy on monday telling them that since 14th December no mail or lawyer and that when I did the interview I submitted my husband's temporary residence permit because his unbefristet was not ready but now it's ready that I want to know if I could submit his current status. Their reply was yes that I should submit his current status through there email. My question is can I submit without compromising the whole process because some people told me that it could delay the whole process that since I submitted his temporary permit it's not a problem because they will still ask him for it that I should not bother. Am confused
