Cesc Fabregas bid farewell after 501 appearances in English football when he was substituted in the closing minutes of Chelsea's victory against Nottingham Forest. Fabregas was captain and missed a first-half penalty but his team ran out as comfortable 2-0 winners thanks to two goals from Alvaro Morata. The 31-year-old Spain international left the pitch in tears as he was replaced by N'Golo Kante, milked the applause and embraced manager Maurizio Sarri.

Failed at chelsea. I am a Manchester United fan but I feel he made the terrible mistake of his career, if not the mistake of his life, by leaving Arsenal to Barcelona. Thats the beginning of the end! What a fine player he was! |

He would have gotten a greater farewell had he played his entire career at Arsenal, and would have maintained a legendary status there, but now he's no legend anywhere |

He was the heir apparent to the Spanish midfield Kingdom, but due to pride, he left Arsenal and moved to his native home. I remember when he was wearing the jersey number 15 at Arsenal, he was a joy to watch and made Highbury his territory. The minute he moved to Chelsea, that was when I concluded in my heart that Cesc is gone. I do hope Arsene Wenger gets the AC Milan job and sign his only beloved son. 1 Like |
