2019 : Olawepo Hashim maintain lead over Buhari and Atiku as most prominent candidate online

70% of voters undecided

The weekly social media rating of presidential candidates’ engagements on the popular platform, Facebook, on Wednesday showed that the candidate of the Peoples Trust (PT), Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim maintained the lead on engagement over APC’s Presidential candidate,Muhammadu Buhari and PDP’s Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Olawepo Hashim who overtook President Buhari and Atiku Abubakar on 10th December 2018 has remained on top with the highest engagement on social media for four (4) consecutive weeks.

This showed that Hashim is the most prominent presidential candidate that is being discussed on the social media.

Going by the data released on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 in Abuja, Olawepo-Hashim recorded Facebook engagements in excess of 17,000 this week, while Atiku Abubakar, who came second, recorded a little over 14,000.

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari had engagements in excess of 3,000.

The statistics also showed that the Presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Kingsley Moghalu and the candidate of Alliance for New Nigeria(ANN) ,Fela Durotoye and other presidential candidates were trailing behind .
Data analysts involved in the polling project said that the data on each of the candidates’ were realistic because “Facebook represents the broad spectrum of voters who will vote in the February poll.”

According to them, “increasing engagements imply voters’ growing interest in the candidates while a decreasing result reflects voters’ disenchantment. A static return means a candidate at a crossroads in the campaign.”
The analysts said in their report that Olawepo-Hashim’s growing engagement rating is a measure of voters’ interest in him as a third force alternative.

“He is no longer part of the pack of third party candidates. He has moved ahead to emerge as a real alternative to both Buhari and Atiku. This is a game changer from data perspective,” according to Segun Seriki, the lead analyst for the project.

“The latest data point to a major upset within the struggle for Nigeria’s presidency, we are making the report available to all the major candidates.”

“Our latest data reflect a major upset in the battle for the Presidency. It is no longer a two- horse race. There is now a third force that is overtaking the old alternatives. We are still following the data but for now, Olawepo-Hashim has pulled the impossible to maintain a four weeks lead over President Buhari and Atiku Abubakar,”he said .

This is the clear evidence that elections are not won on social media.

It's the more reason I laugh at Atiku and Atikulosers with their lies and propaganda to defeat Buhari.

The real mobilizers are on the street for Baba Buhari and they are taking the campaign to the real voters are on the street.

And that is very sad for Nigeria..

It shows that the people who decide our leaders are the most illiterates in the country..

If we are really a country ready to work, this PT candidate of a guy should win the election. He has shown attributes of a good leader..

I have have always been an avid follower of Nigerian politics and I must say the atrocities and profilgacy of the pdp governments over the years is nation wrecking.we are lucky pdp ruled in a time of plenty else this country would have been totally ruined with the way our resources were being looted and squandered. The previous administration was paying a militant 1.5 billion monthly to secure Nigerian waterways. This is an example of what pdp has to offer Imagine spending that kind of money on fortifying the armed forces. Maybe bokoharam would have been history by now. I don't ever want to see the likes of atiku backed by obasanjo running this country again, ever. Buhari may be less than ideal with many thieves like Tinubu and Co in his ranks. but he is in my own opinion a lesser evil. And only he amongst the many presidential candidates has the muscle to prevent the disaster of a pdp return to the corridors of power. He may not have fulfilled his promises as many of them were grandiose and unrealistic from the beginning but he made good efforts. it would be unfair to expect utopia from his government considering challenges faced. He took over a country in economics crises . I however strongly believe his second term would be an improvement on the first. That aside, I recently read the profile of Mr hasim and I must say I'm impressed. I'm glad intellectually sound people like him, mogalu, sowore etc are coming up and contesting the presidency. Though 2019 is 4 buhari, I urge them not to relent. Our polity is gradually graduating its infancy. I would like to see people like them as president in the near future.

Most of the educated people will not go out to vote. They avoid conflict and violence. That's why it will take a shift in mindset to bring reasonable people to power

Why so much hate for a neutral candidate when it is crystal clear that president buhari has failed to achieve 70% of his campaign promises even in the most prominent ones which is curbing corruption and eradicating terrorism ...and Atiku on the other hand is renowned looter that should not be trusted with power (once a thief...). If 80% of us in Nigeria are in our right senses, this present presidential battle would be between Olawepo and Sowore....it is a pity we have allowed both ethnic and religious bigotry to block our sense of reasoning...History have shown that Nigerian politician dont deserve second chance or who can sincerely name any Nigerian politician that outperforms his first tenure?

Online president of Nigeria

If APC & PDP hadn't already perfected their rigging mechanism, there probably would have been a chance for him in reality, but for now he's Nigeria's internet elected president.
