Government has filed criminal charges against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

The spokesperson of the CCT, Ibrahim Alhassan confirmed this to Channels Television on Saturday, saying that the charges were served on the CJN on Friday.

Justice Onnoghen is being accused of failing to declare his assets and operating a domiciliary account, among other charges.

According to the CCT spokesperson, he is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
