Unraveling the circumstances surrounding the murder of Late Friday Igwe, A community Source who spoke with Ebonyidailynews.com over the weekend stated that a man has claimed responsibility for the murder.

According to the source who narrated the incident to Ebonyi Daily News give an accounts" An indigene of Amaegu in Ishiagu community suddenly wake up one morning and began to act strangely, he was shouting " Let me confess, I want to Confess" people gathered but instead he ran to the Police station where he confessed to the crime of killing Late Igwe Friday. He was immediately arrested and detained.

Confirming the incident, The Divisional Police Officer DPO of Ishiagu, Mr. Urom stated that the matter have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, of the Police Headquarters in Abakaliki.

Ebonyi Daily News gathered that the suspect whose name was shielded for fear of reprisal attack on his immediate family confessed he killed Late Friday Igwe because of a little fracas he had with him. He was said to have dismembered his body organs to look like a ritual killings.

Another source an elder who gave his name as Mr Ajah while speaking with Ebonyi daily news said Ishiagu community has its body of customary laws which forbids shading of innocent blood, any one who shades his brothers blood either in secret or open must be caught and forced into banishment, modernization has nothing to do with this, that was why the laws of karma visited Late Igwe's killer he stated.

Ebonyi daily news understands that Ishiagu community is the home town of Anyim Pius Anyim a Nigerian politician who served as the President of Nigerian senate and was the immediate-past Secretary to the Government of the Federation. He was elected as national Senator on the People's Democratic Party platform in 1999 for the Ebonyi South constituency of Ebonyi State
