Tinubu’s Former CSO, Egbetokun Appointed as New Lagos Acting CP
The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has directed Mr. Kayode Egbetokun to take over from Imohimi Edgal as the Acting Commissioner of Police for Lagos State.

Egbetokun had in the past served as the Chief Security Officer to former Lagos state Governor and APC chieftain, Bola Tinubu.

According to reports, Edgal has been redeployed to take charge of the Explosives and Ordinance Disposal Unit at the Force headquarters, Abuja.

EFCC Arrest Human Rights Activists for Demanding N50 Million Bribe to Withdraw Petition

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two human rights activists for allegedly demanding a bribe from Wahum Nigeria Limited.

According to report, the President of the Path of Peace Initiatives, Dandy Eze, and one Solomon Johnson are the accused in the case.

Eze and Johnson were said to have sometime in 2018 approached Wahum Nigeria Limited to ask for N50 million to help facilitate the withdrawal of a petition written against the company, which they claimed was being investigated by the EFCC.

BREAKING: Onnoghen Absent at CCT Hearing Today

The scheduled arraignment of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen at the Code of Conduct Tribunal onallegations of false declaration of assets, proceeded today with the CJN conspicuously absent but his team of counsel was present to represent his defence.

According to reports, the members of the Danladi Umar-led three-man tribunal arrived in the courtroom at exactly 10 am and called the case at 10.01 am

The court official who announced the case observed that CJN was not present and then notified the tribunal chairman of the development.

Fresh Crisis Looms over New Minimum Wage

The moves by the Federal Government and the organised labour to finalise the new minimum wage issue this month face yet another crisis.

Sources at the National Assembly told The PUNCH on Sunday that the legislature plans to go on another recess ahead of the presentation of an executive bill on a new minimum wage by the presidency, which is one of the agreements reached between the government and the worker unions.

The National Assembly is on Christmas and New Year recess and will resume on Tuesday.

Thailand Deploys Rainmaking Planes as Pollution Chokes Bangkok
Thailand is set to deploy rainmaking planes to seed clouds in an effort to tackle the pall of pollution that has shrouded the capital in recent weeks.

The weather modification technique involves dispersing chemicals into the air to aid cloud condensation, which should, in theory, result in rain.

“The Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation expects the rainmaking to be done tomorrow (Tuesday) but it depends on wind and humidity levels,” Pralong Dumrongthai, director-general of Thailand’s Pollution Control Department, told reporters.
