People should stop saying "only in Africa". Even in developed nations, investigative journalism can get you and your family wiped out. Its sad but it happens. Try and investigate a Russian on corruption, then let's talk.

Did USA praise Edward Snowden? No, they tried to arrest him. See another one: Facebook deleted the account of Adam Gold, an Israeli whistleblower who exposed corrupt Israeli state attorney and Supreme Court of Israel personnel. Israel's prime minister made Facebook reopen the account. But banned the account again after a few days. And the dude moved to telegram.

Another CIA whistleblower James S. Pars was suspended. Not only that, they put him on some sort of blacklist. So now he probably would not be able to get any good job ever again. Worse still, NOTHING happened to the exposed people.

An Australian whistle blower Dr. Coffey and his family has been subjected to severe retaliation (and threats of harm).

A British police officer Keith Osmund-Smith exposed police corruption in child sex trafficking. Instead of an award, dude got SUSPENDED!

In short, the rest of the world's just as crazy as Africa.

really scary....surprised to hear of news like this from Ghana.... Africa at large is really a mess.....
I'm sure he was an incorruptible journalist...wondering how many bribes he must have refused before been killed.
I trust my naija journalists...they only do investigative journalism when there's a whistle blower fee involved

I don't think it was an issue of bribe cos his identity wasn't known until now. So offering him bribes wasn't on d table. Unfortunately 4 him, journalists like him who work in a TV station decided 2 expose him& put his identity on TV. Instead of protecting him& helping him expose corruption, they exposed d guy exposing corruption. He became a sitting duck
