The British High Commission expresses serious concern over the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
The UK issued the following statement: The British High Commission expresses serious concern over the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria. We have heard a wide range of credible and independent voices, including in the Nigerian legal profession and civil society, who have expressed concern over the constitutionality of the executive branch’s suspension of the chief officer of the judiciary.
We respect Nigeria’s sovereign authority and its right to adjudicate on constitutional provisions but as friends of the Nigerian people, we are compelled to observe that the timing of this action, so close to national elections, gives cause for concern. It risks affecting both domestic and international perceptions on the credibility of the forthcoming elections. We, along with other members of the international community, are following developments closely.
We encourage all actors to maintain calm and address the concerns raised by this development through due process, demonstrating their commitment to respecting the constitution and the impartial administration of the rule of law. We further urge them to take steps to ensure that elections take place in an environment conducive to a free, fair and peaceful process.

Gradually it's knows how desperate PMB is about this election.

It's clear to even a toddler that it's only a rig that will give him a win

Buhari should start packing his bags as his fight is now not against Ononghen, but against Nigeria and the rest of the civilised world.

Even a 5 year old Nigerian pupil knows about separation of powers and independence of the Judiciary, shocking how a 76 year old President of a Nation doesn't. Buhari is worse than a dullard.

But l would not be surprised to hear that Buhari is not aware that he removed Onnoghen.

I am glad that sane minds can see the irregularities of the failures action only our own slow poke will still support this wickedness

Meanwhile, here in Nigeria, some silly empty heads are cheering the disastrous failure to continue with his despotic act.

Fellow Nigerians, we must rise against those Illegality of Mr presidents current action.
This is the only country we have and we can not let the act of one individual ruin us all and the lives of our generation.

Enough is enough, this act of tyranny must be resisted by all well meaning Nigerians. The Constitution clearly states that it is only the National judicial Commission or two third of the Senate's that can recommend the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

We must not be cowered by the despotic act of any individual in government. And finally, come February 16, we shall kick out the failure back to his village Insha Allah.
