The Chairman of the forum and Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, described the removal of Onnoghen as a sad day and a sad commentary on democracy in Nigeria.

The governor, in a statement signed his Special Adviser on Media Relations, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei, said that the action was inimical to the desired stability of the nation and critical institutions of state.

He said that Nigerians have a responsibility to be concerned about the electoral process and the critical institutions entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding democracy in the society.

Dickson stated that Nigeria would be heading in the direction of a sh*thole country if critical institutions of state failed to get it right.

He lamented that the removal of Onnoghen from his exalted position showed in clear terms that the nation’s democracy was under serious stress and test.

He said: “Talking about the unfortunate development, having read the details about it, and if the report that we are reading about it are anything to go by, then it is a very sad commentary on our nation’s democracy

“It is a very sad day, for our nation’s democracy and for the stability of our nation, and the stability of the critical national institution of which the judiciary is primus inter pares.

“We must be concerned about the process, the integrity of the national critical institutions that will safeguard and reinforce our democracy, seeing our democracy has come under very severe stress and test by what has happened today.”

The forum’s chairman stressed that while the courts would make pronouncement on the legality or otherwise on the development around the CJN, the South-South governors found the action condemnable

He emphasized the need for due process and adherence to constitutional provisions, stressing that countries are governed according to laws and mutual respect among the political class.

A disgraceful move by a President who rode on the goodwill of an EX he defeated at the polls recently. Jonathan laid the foundation of free and fair elections but for Buhari to ride on that good will has proven to be dificult.

PDP that are crying around, wailing, those PDP are a fraudsters that know how to play their game very well than other political parties because they are very matured in criminal activities,.. Europeans,US or UK shouldn't interfere in our issues, they are the ones that started this mess for over a century now. Besides, what is the essence of gaining independent?, they have many issues of their own, so they should face it, there are many dictators in Africa here and around the world whos has been ruling for the past 3 decades, they have nothing to say to that.... Hypocrites

My take is based on directives from the Code of Conduct Bureau to the President in which he claimed to have acted upon. Is Buhari's action constitutional or not?

LIKE if you agree with the PMB and SHARE if you disagree with him

Happy Sunday everyone!

If the CJN is truly corrupt as accused, his removal is cool then... but, why was he just caught when the election is at the door? why was Mr Buhari so quick on his case but completely slow and reluctant on other cases especially those from his camp? why did he have to replace him with another northern man? is Nigeria now for the North alone? Is Mr Buhari not gradually going insane?
A vote for Buhari, is an acceptance to continuous suffering and hardship. Think Today!

The person that's next in rank to Onoghen, happen to be from the north, that's not Buhari fault.

To whom brain is given, sense is expected.
Salami's suspension was very much in line with what is stipulated in the constitution.
I'm talking trial and fact-finding that spanned 5 months and the blessing of the NJC.
Not an ex-parte motion obtained from the wind in a non-existent court session.
As long as everyone is concerned, they were to reconvene on January 28th.

the same Buhari refused to sign the amended electoral bill sighting that the elections were too close and the dire consequences it could bring should he sign the bill into law as his excuse but is quick to react to removing CJN from office hours to the CJN appointing elections tribunal, speaks volume of a man touted as having integrity and on top of that appoints a blood relative as INEC coordinating officer to annouce his rigged election is such a shame Buhari will be resisted he will not get away with all these atrocities unscathed. If he thinks otherwise he should be reminded of what became of his hero Abacha as the same fate awaits him
