In a shocking incident, a Rusape, Zimbabwe man, struck his wife to death with a hoe and burnt her body for denying him sex and the hid in a cave for three years to evade Justice.
Appearing before Mutare High Court Judge, Justice Hlekaini Mwayera, 28-year-old Lameck Manyanga was slapped with 25 years in prison for killing his wife Tendai Mufaranyuri.
It is the state’s case that on 9 December 2014 at Inyati Mine, Manyanga had a dispute with his wife after he had been denied sex.
An altercation then broke out after his wife insulted him.
Manyanga was said to have left for work and upon his return, his wife denied him of his conjugal rights.
In anger, he armed himself with a hoe which he used to attack his wife.
After committing the gruesome act, Manyanga burned the hut where his wife’s lifeless body was lying. He also went on to write a suicide note and went on to hide in a cave where he took shelter for three years.
Manyanga was only discovered by another villager, Tafadzwa Mhlanga sometime in October 2017, iharare.com reports.
Manyanga was said to have threatened to attack anyone who would dare approach him, whilst wielding an iron bar.
