You cant categorically claim that man is old enough to be her grandfather. People with special needs looks older and even if he is older their brain is like that of a toddler.

What we should be concerned about is that girl is marrying a baby instead of a man and one should be concerned how she is going to take care of an infant and adult-baby.

Exactly, why marry her off and continue perpetuating the circle of poverty. Who is going to take care of whom...the baby girl or the baby man? Why subject the poor girl to such situation which in the long run negates every objective reasoning?Marrying her off will surely backfire as the girl will continue with the same mentality as her mother who got married of in the same circumstances.
The chain needs to be broken at a point and I am glad we did it.

15-year-old girl, Miss Chinwe, that was recently married off to an older man, Izuchukwu Igwilo, from Anambra state, has been rescued.
Last week, there was a public outcry on all media platforms after photos from the introduction ceremony of Chinwe and Izuchukwu surfaced online.
Activist, Prince Harrison Gwamnishu, who championed the course for Chinwe to be rescued, gave an update on Saturday. According to the Gwamnishu, Chinwe who is 15 going on 16, has a six-month old baby and she has been taken back to her parents' house. He also stated that on Monday February 4th, she will be officially handed over to the Anambra state Ministry of Women Affairs.

Do they intend to follow this up to ensure the girl remains with her parents? If the dust settles, she could be sent back to her husband. From my understanding, If a lady's bride price has been paid in that part of the country, the family owns her except the bride price is returned.

It has been returned and the state government has taken over the welfare of the girl and her baby.

Parents should plan for their children from birth and equally stop giving birth when they know they don't have the resources to take care of them. This is as a result of poverty and lack of planing. If some parents start saving #5000 every month for a child, in sixteen years time that child will have nothing less than a million naira to start a biz and even become independent.

Very impressive to see this happen.

No girl child should be sent out of the house or be sold just because of poverty.

No girl child should be abused or be made a scapegoat because of lack of money.

A girl child is not an avenue to make money.

I'm happy she's back to her parents and I hope the same people that made this move would also clamour for some sort of financial support for the family.

There is nothing wrong with people with special need if only you've had the opportunity to relate with them. Your problem is the man disability not the girls age.
